I've been vaping quite a while now and have used a lot of Kangers coils but every single one of these new dual coils turns out like this

Code:

Is anyone else having the same issue? The wick appears to be too loose and works its way out the sides and into the juice, i suspect im also breathing some of this wick.

I'm probably going to switch back to the old style single/dual coils or a different tank/coil system altogether if this isn't fixed next set i get.

I also have been using the Kanger Dual coil for a while now. I haven't had that happen to any of mine, but I take more slow mouth hits. Are you pulling hard on those when that happens? The pic I took is a dual coil I have been using in my smaller pen with a miniprotank 3. This coil is about done for too. Resistance is 2.2 right now. Probably been using it for about 3 weeks.

Thanks for the link!

Yea those are the type of coils, official Kanger dual coils for the AeroTank Mega.

It is more than a few strands, this last coil i replaced i thought there was some jelly in my juice but after i dumped it down the sink and inspected it, it was a birds nest of _silica fibres floating in the juice_.

I don't toke hard on them, i usually favour very airy draw, wide open. I've also noticed considerable "pops" on these coils, often ejecting hot juice in my mouth and/or blocking the air flow.

One design difference i've think i've noticed between my coils and the more recent pictures online are the new ones appear to have two small holes either side of the coil/wick, while mine has a single long slit. I suspect my coils are an early production run batch and the issue with wick ejection was corrected by using 2 small holes rather than 1 slit, so perhaps the problem im experiencing is gone in new coils.

It's my theory that in these new coils they've not used very tightly packed or woven wicking which when agitated by the heat and hot juice works there way out the edges. In other Kanger coil designs, where the wick is exposed, they appear to use a tighter woven wick which doesn't disintegrate.

I mentioned all this to my online vape shop, they hadn't heard anything re issues, but offered to throw me some free coils next order to see if they were any better, so i'll take them up on it and hope i just got a crap batch or something.

Thanks for the replies guys, glad to know im not entirely alone on this issue. :)
