okay, as bunny said...

both your coils together, make up the ohm that shows on your mod, when it's turned on. they have to be like a matched set of identical mirror twins to work properly... so either, one is showing as0.08 and the other as 0.1, both are showing as 0.09, or some variation like that. I can see from the image there is one that has gaps and less wick than the other... wicking is a pain and sometimes a bit of trial and error.

Hello, Im realatively new to vaping and im using the Fuchai 213 with the Ifly Limitless XL tank. Im using the RTA dual coil setup and when I pulse it only one coil will glow, it appears to get hot but doesn't glow, is there any way to trouble shoot or fix this issue, coils are pretty much brandnew
Thanks!

Im using Clapton coils .2 resistance they are displaying .18 ohms on my mod. Now I'm having a dry hit problem. I've watched multiple videos on wicking. This is a major hastle. Any clue what I should do?

I assume what you are saying is that you have the uneven coil heating issue solved because if you don't then do so first before worrying about dry hits. The previous posts have told you what to look for and correct to fix that problem.
So now on to the dry hit problem.
My first suggestion is to try turning down your wattage. I think you mentioned you were vaping at 60, well I have 2 vapes in front of me and the Crown at 0.27 ohms is currently set on 40 watts. The Boreas at 0.20 ohms is set at 42 watts. The setting you choose is of course personal preference but the juice your using impacts this a lot. Some juices in some attys are best vaped at 60 watts but when I'm vaping at 60, or thereabouts, and get repeated dry hits my first instinct is to turn down the power and my second is to give it a bit longer between vapes for the wicking to take place. If neither works or is simply not what you are comfortable with then I'd look to your wicking.

Your claptons at 60 are burning a lot of juice and if you have a heavy finger on the fire button and like long slow vapes then your wicking will have to keep up if you want to avoid dry hits. I don't have the XL but I do have several Limitless +'s and they all wick pretty much the same way with the tails extending down into the juice through channels or holes. It is in fact an almost foolproof easy wicking atty. I see though in the pic of the XL's 2 coil base the wicks have to come around the end of the coils back to the middle to get through the hole to the juice. If the wick is too tight in the coil, too tight through that bend, and/or too tight through the hole into the tank you may not get the juice flow you need. If it's too tight in the bend try moving the coils a bit higher and/or pinch them shorter to give your wick just that bit of extra room. If it's too tight through either the coil or the juice hole then try a bit less wicking. If all else fails then try rayon as it supposedly wicks much quicker than Japanese cotton and I've had few dry hits since switching myself.

I don't have a limitless, but whether it's .1 or .2 in dual (.2 or .4ohm individual coils), that's a pretty low build for an RTA. The only times I personally go near that low on RTAs is if I'm going to use them on a SAFE unregulated device, and even then it's usually really harsh and hot until the battery drains some.

My point is basically that your coils appear to be glowing evenly from the photo, maybe you had a bit too much wick which will contribute to dry hits if it's all shoved in there so tight that it has no room to breathe and soak up juice... but I would basically put money on the thought that your resistance might just be too low for that topper. Or at least too low for that topper for your preferences. I've got a Lemo 3 which has about as much airflow as any RTA I've used and I still find .2 to be pushing it in there.

An easy way to check this would be to simply reduce the wattage, which will at least show if the resistance is too low/power is too high. In that case you can rebuild at a higher resistance or else just vape at that lower wattage. I really think that's probably it.

It's all an educated guess based on generally using RTAs, though, and for sure there's an element of personal preference beyond simply what the topper is capable of. If anyone who actually owns a limitless uses screaming hot .00007 (JOKING) builds in your limitless to great effect, awesome. Kinda.

For what it's worth, my 2c on the VG-heavy juices is that most modern, non-Kayfun-style RTAs can take them. I'm more of an RDA guy than an RTA guy but at this point I have a number of RTAs and all of them besides the Subtank Mini and actual Kayfun can take max-VG (DIY, usually around 85ish% VG) juice.

Ed: Got beat to it, yeah, I second what was said above.

I know this probably has been covered...... but, as a rebuilder, I've ran across this issue quite regularly.

I do make my own claptons, and remake all my coils. Whether or not you make your own, buy pre-made, or even buy a pre-built deck.... the problems could always be the same.

First, make sure the coils are on their contacts securely. Tighten screws, or whatever, but they need to have the same connection.

Second, make sure they have the same size. Make sure they have the same size diameter and the same number of wraps. If one wire was wrapped aorund a 2mm rod, and the other wrapped around a 2.5mm rod, they will be different resistances. The two coils have to be totally identical.

third, make sure they have the same spacing between the coils. If one coil is wrapped looser than the other, it will have a different resistance. If they're both micro coils, make sure there's no cotton or juice on either coil, and glow them... using tweezers, pinch the end of the coils to tighten up the coil spacing. If you have metal tweezers, do NOT fire the mod while pinching the coil tighter.... for metal tweezers, fire the mod, let off the fire button, then pinch the coil tighter. After doing that, I gently re-insert the rod to put it back in to shape.

fourth, fiddle with it. Ususally, strumming the coil fixes most issues, but sometimes it takes a bit more poking, prodding, and repositioning the coil. sometimes raising the coil just a tad helps, sometimes moving it closer or farther to the post helps... but fiddle a bit to see if any of that brings the second coil to glow.

All this is done without wick or juice on the coils... If there's still a bit of juice on one coil, it will cause it not to glow. Just keep pulsing until it's dry. Also, make sure the coils are ONLY touching by the the leads.. if any of the coil is touching the deck, or the coil itself is touching the post, then it will cause it to be shorter, and thus get hotter.. only the coil leads need to touch the post/connection area and nothing else touching anything metal. Repeat any of the steps above, and don't even think about putting cotton or juice on it until they glow evenly.

If you cannot get them to glow evenly.. even trying multiple coils but end up with the same result, here's some troubleshooting tips:

If you're buying premade coils, get a multimeter, and measure the ohms of the coils before intallation. make sure when they made it, they don't have a batch of different coils in one pack.

Check the deck to make sure the deck is evenly distributing power.. I first get an identical strand of kanthal about 1 ohms worth, and put it on the leads without coiling... just make sure that they're both even. See if they heat evenly. If you've taken the coil out of the equation and it still doesn't heat evenly, then there might be a problem with the deck itself. For that, either take it back to the shop, or you can try and troubleshoot why it's not supplying the same power to the coils itself.

I hope that helps a bit. If you need any clarification, or questions about any of the processes, feel free to ask me.
