Hi folks. This might seem like a silly question but I want to have a go at building coils for my KangerTech AeroTank. I have ordered some A1 Kanthal 0.25mm and a resistance meter. The thing I haven't got is the blowtorch thingy, and we do not have a gas cooker. So my question is can I use a cigarette lighter to do the job? If not, why not.
I never thought I would be prepared to give this a go so soon but it looks as though I should be able to do it. I guess I won't know 'till I try.

IMO if you are rebuilding the new kangers, Its much easier to just buy a 5 pack for less than 10 bucks rather than rebuild them.

Yes but they are not lasting me very long and I've had a bit of trouble with spitting/juice in mouth so I thought if I built my own they might last longer. If I find that doesn't happen I will go back to buying the packs.
Might be too fiddly for me to be able to successfully build my own. I just want to try and if successful compare the difference.

I build a lot of kanger single-coil heads. I just test the resistance on my VV3 or MVP2 and then fire it to check how it glows. If it's not an even glow, I'll pinch it with some tweezers (off fire, of course) and try again. I don't worry much about pre-burning, like minitater says.

I love 'em. I wick with cotton or cellucotton (rayon), and I like them much better than the stock builds. I use 30g kanthal and wind my coils to about 1.8 ohms. Pretty happy spot for me :)
