KangerTech EVOD Tank breaks... why?

Hello! I'm new to vaping. Bought 2 new setups at a local shop in North Florida. Kangertech battery 650mha with standerd clearomizer, plus upgrade to a kangrrtech EVOD tank. My wife chose Blue Raspberry with 8mg nic. I chose Mellon 8mg nic. I have been vaping my identical setup nonstop for 2 days no problem. However 3 tanks have broken on her setup. Not by damage just laying on the table, she comes by to take vape and it's broken and leaking. We drove to the shop and was made to purchase a replacement. And it cracked while in her lips, not 2 hours later. Are these known to be bad tanks or is there some other reason?

Many juices will destroy plastic tanks such as the EVOD, citrus and cinnamon juices are especially notorious for this.

Your only option is to switch to a non-tank-cracking juice or switch to glass/metal clearomizers/cartotanks or other more advanced setups with non polycarbonate tanks, for example the mini protank 2. It has the same form factor, heads etc, but has a glass tank.

Hello and welcome to ecf.

If the tank is made of plastic, then some ejuices can and do crack them. Next time you get to the shop, try out a Provari II mini. It is made of glass so therefore the same type of ejuice will do no harm.

Congrats on making the switch to ecigs. I am suprised the sales person at the shop did not advise you of this. Maybe they just didn't know.

:)

Think you meant 'Protank'.;)

Thanks for the input, I'm gonna order a kangertech pro mini, I think. The store needs to replace the tanks I lost to the juice they mixed for me before I will patronize them again. I specifically asked if the juice would crack the tank when I returned with the first 2 broken ones, and the girl told me thier sample tank has never cracked. I speculate the juice and nic. are reacting, as the sample tank has no nic. Now my wife is worried about the juice...
I mean if it can do that to plastic......

Thanks again for the help I am not going back to analog, so I gotta get this figured out.

I have found that the kanger protank and protankII are great tanks. They are pyrex glass and can stand up to any juice you put in them. You may be changing your coils every other day but the tank will certainly hold up much better than any of the plastic ones.
Why would I be changing coils so frequently?

There is no need to worry about the juice. Nicotine can be a very dangerous substance. If you get juice on your skin you will want to wash it right away. But its not the nicotine content in the juice that causes tanks to fail. It is the other chemical, usually the flavoring, that will eat away at the plastic. Certain flavors, like cinnamon, are known to destroy plastic tanks.

Why would I be changing coils so frequently?

Certain very dark and/or heavily flavored juices will gunk up PT coils quite quickly.

Bobas Bounty from Alien Visions being a good example, it can badly gunk up a head/coil in just 1 tank.

If you experience a drop-off in performance from a head/coil, google "cleaning and dry-burning a protank/evod head".

OH No.....
Sugar say it aint so.........
another Provari Illuminati............:)

Kanger Evod knock offs do have issues, with the drip tips and cracks in the fill windows down near the coil....(may be the heat and over tightening).
My OEM Kangers (as of yet) have not been having similar issues.....the knock offs....both have developed leaks after a couple months continious use.
Quick check of the ego base should show engraved KangerTech, and the coil base will have the ohms imprinted on it.
IF not.......may be a knock off. :2c:
