Hi there,

I just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues with the Kangertech SOCC coils (1.8 ohms), mine are only lasting 2 days max, sometimes only one day! Here in Australia they cost $9.50 - $13 bucks a pack of 5 plus shipping which is minimum $5.95. So 2 packs (to last a week - worst case scenario if there's some duds) cost nearly $30!! (I'm looking to put in a big order from fasttech for cheaper price)
On the Kangertech website they say these coils should last at least a week.
I changed from the silica wicks after alot of reading about them and possible health concerns.
I have a Kangertech mini protank 2 and a vision spinner 1300mah. I run it on the lowest setting which is 3.3 volts.
I have done heaps of research into why and how to fix the issue and tried turning the silicone rubber hat upside down, am thinning out the 50/50 vg liquid i have with pg to make it predominantly pg, priming the coils, waiting for liquid to soak into the coils, running a needle through the centre of the cotton coil horizontally, tried not vaping for longer than a few seconds, not drawing on it hard, not chain vaping, waiting a good amount of time between vapes.
I am looking at trying to rewick but I have tested a few used up ones and can't get the cotton out without damaging the coil. I have looked into rebuilding but i'm nervous about it - and i saw you need an ohms and volts reader to safely test them before use and these cost a bit for a reliable one.
I saw lots of people say these are lasting them a lot longer.
Any thoughts appreciated!!!

Hey there Jwaterski :)
Thankyou so much for your reply :)
I took your advice and upped the voltage to 3.6/3.7 and it seems to be working much better so far, I did read that there has been problems with the vision spinner 11 1300's actually outputting a constant 4.5 volts when they were tested which is interesting, and be whats frying the coils. I am going to get a ohms/volts meter and test my spinners and also go the diy route with the coils as you say
Thanks again!
