My local shop won't get the Subtank in. They got burned bad by the Aerotank series. Almost all of the Aerotanks they sold got returned for typical Kanger problems. Seeping leaks, gurgly/dry hitting coils, thread lock issues, etc. Even the Protanks suffered from spotty coils and leaky bases.

My question is: is the quality better on the Subtank, or is it still plagued with Kanger problems? Talking more about the prebuilt heads, and the general tank integrity. The rebuildable head could be anything, depending on how well (or not) it's built.

I wish my local shop would give them another chance. All the Aspire products they got in have always been money. From the cheap clearos to the Nautilus to coils.

So they naturally got a huge shipment of Atlantises. Selling them at a competitive price, too. Probably gonna pick up an Atlantis tomorrow.

But, the Subtank really has piqued my interest.

I've heard good reports from friends and FOTIs about the subtank itself, but with Kanger, until a loooong time passes on amazing behavior, YMMV when it comes to their coils and have any expectation of how well they're put together... though that holds true for about all of the companies putting them out. Though I do like that you can forgo replacement coils all together and use it as an RTA.

I'd check out this thread before picking up an Atlantis.

Yeah, I've read the thread. Not worried. Nicotine is an awful poison that wreaks havoc on the cardiovascular system, so until I get rid of that, I'm really not that concerned. Meaning, I'm not exactly a health nut now. Just switched my poison delivery system. An alcoholic who switched from JD to beer. I really haven't quit anything yet.

Pretty sure my heart will blow up before I have to worry about what Aspire wicks their coils with killing me. Especially when it's going to be an on the go tank anyway. I have drippers galore wicked with cotton that I do 80% of my vaping on anyhow.

Thanks, though.

These typical problems you speak of can happen with any tank i have had more of those with my nautilus mini than on my aerotank v2 except a little gurgling and my girlfriends one leaked until i showed her how to stop that.

Indeed, but they just seem to be much more typical of Kanger tanks. Thus the thread.

Thanks for weighing in.

It appears thus far, that the consensus is that the Subtank is not the usual leaky thread locking mess that the Aerotanks were/are. Even if the prebuilt heads are junk (which the consensus also is they aren't), there is a rebuildable head that can get you by. But, then again, if you are going to rely on that then you might as well get a Kayfun4.

Again, thus the thread. Thanks for the replies so far.

I've had my Subtank for about 3 weeks now. Works great, no leaking, gurgles, etc, etc, etc. I've owned a lot of different Kanger products over the past 4-5 years and they have all had some kind of little pain in the rear flaw but this Subtank is the cats meow!!! Super user friendly and convenient. It's is a little bulky but i mainly use it at home with a Sigelei 100 watt plus. I use the Atlantis or Lemo Drop on a IPV mini when out on the town, works great too. I'm happy for now. Might spring for another VaporShark (40 watt this time) if i ever get square on cashish after getting holiday bills paid up.
