Just got a DPV-50, 6-40watts. To install the battery, you have to remove two screws. I used an IMR Sony VTC-5. Too high of a wattage for my 1.8 ohm iclear 30 with the minimum 6 watts. But I bought it for quad coil use ~22 watts+. Problems are that I can't see the display in direct sunlight and the 510 thread does not accept FastTechs CATS 1:1 clones 510 thread. Possible tolerance issues on either side. Tried 4 different CATS. I will have to get an air-flow adapter or a 510 extender to use my CATS. All my Innokin attachments fit with FastTechs Attys fitting a little tight. As far as size and weight the DVP-50 is comfortable to use. I am happy with it and glad I bought it. Your wattage is limited to the batteries ability. The DVP-50 has a Mech mode that draws directly off the battery. I do not know if this disables safeties. It claims to monitor battery temperature but I'm not sure I would trust it with a low wattage battery. I avoid all multi battery set-ups due to the potential fault issues, fully charged and low battery, new battery and old battery, mixed ratings (high probability with all the counterfeits) and other combinations that will cause a battery to vent and/or explode during use. The guy here in Florida apparently had mixed charge 123a batteries in his mech and it cost him part of his tongue and some teeth. An early accident with mechs when little was known about lithium battery hazards. Read about the risks before using a device with more than one lithium battery.
