It depends on the day. I'm hoping his dish being elevated will help. There are days when he refuses to eat whatever I give him (cat food, baby food, tuna, whatever) and then I have to give him an appetite stimulant which works for about three days.

We go one day at a time. As long as he feels good and he eats we're good. He'll tell me when it's time to cross the rainbow bridge.

I refuse to let my kids drag on and suffer. When I worked a the vet hospital the ting that bothered all of us who worked there, even more than sick pets, was when clients could not make that decision at the appropriate time or those clients who said they didnt believe in euthanasia and those pets would go at their own good time.

Good morning! First day of my 2 days off. Sun is shining and I'm just finishing my 2nd cup of kawfee, Mark's Panama FST. Good stuffz! Soon I'm off to take my little Oreo to TSC for distemper and rabies vaccinations in preparation of her spaying on Tuesday. After that, it's off to pick up the grandson then on to Kurama(another Japanese steakhouse) to celebrate Laura's birthday. First up though, a bit of cleaning. I hope everyone has an awesome day!!

We are getting more storms today. Last weeks storms brought 5 tornadoes in the Houston area. Ugh!

Happy middle of the day Erryone! Hairs cut. Sun has broken through, and it's gorgeous out. SO and I did a bit of work out back. An old pool got dissected and tossed in neighbor's dumpster. It's been SEVEN years since that stoopid thing came down. The "back 40" is now officially cleaned out and can be repurposed for growing things besides weeds!!!!

When I worked a the vet hospital the ting that bothered all of us who worked there, even more than sick pets, was when clients could not make that decision at the appropriate time or those clients who said they didn't believe in euthanasia and those pets would go at their own good time.

Yeah, sometimes it is hard to know though. Animals are good at hiding pain. Starting to think I may have to consider it for my calico. She's 15 and pretty obviously starting to have some serious issues walking. She stopped jumping up on anything a few months ago but I didn't really connect that she might be in pain, just thought she was getting old, and she's always been lazy. But now I think she is in a lot of pain.

Good evening everyone! Another day has flown by.

The two adult dogs went for annual checkup and shots. My wallet is now lighter [emoji5]

It looks like I'll get to close on a car Monday. First one I planned to get had a couple of factory finishing defects, and what they offered to do wouldn't have worked for me. Second one had an annoying scratch in a not bad location; they came down on price, did an excellent repair, plus this one has some added features. Paperwork signed, loan app in (no brainer, and I already spoke with the local bank manager so she can expedite cutting a check Monday). They'll owe us one corrective action, a tiny blemish on the hood that I'm comfortable their shop can fix properly.

Tomorrow will be Rozting and taking DW and BIL's family to a local Texas De Brazil, celebrating DW's birthday Monday and a niece's birthday midweek. Sunday night I should be in a meat coma for TWD [emoji3]

Yes animals, cats especially, are good at hiding pain but there are always signs if we're observant.

May I suggest that you talk to your vet about your kitty? She sounds like she may have arthritis from your description. There are excellent, and not terribly expensive, drugs that work really well to relieve the pain. I have had two geriatric cats that had arthritic pain on these drugs and they bought them several months of quality of life.

At the vet hospital where I worked we had several cats on these meds.
