Dawwwww.... y'all make me smile! Thank you to everyone for checking in on me and worrying about us. We're good... lots of flooding in our area and the plant was closed down yesterday, so I was stranded at home... I got stuck snuggling on the couch wif my Darlin' Bride (absolute torture, I tell ya!
). No damage to our property, though. We're both safe and sound and hopin' that things get back to normal soon. We were supposed to go to the oncologist yesterday, but that got canceled. Looks like we'll go see him next Monday and she'll start the new chemo on that day. LOVES Y'ALL!!!
@skullblade789 - Brother, I am so saddened to hear of your Grandfather's illness and struggles. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers, always, but particularly during this time of hardship. I pray that you all find the strength and peace that will help you to get through this. Hugs, Brother... anytime you need 'em.

Got home from dive class yesterday stanking of Bromine. Pool chemistry had gotten slightly off, staff have been working to adjust PH, bromine levels,... Net, I was looking forward to a long hot shower to get rid of the pool chemicals, ended up with a tepid shower -- water heater controller had gone west.
Good side is it's a fairly new heater, parts under warranty. Bad side is the Honeywell controller isn't anywhere to be found locally. Ahh, well, $35 overnight shipping fee and our local heater service people should be able to repair it tomorrow.
(I do electrical, plumbing,..., happily installed the new electric water heater at camp, but I just don't like mucking with LPG, let a qualified tech do that work. The good thing is these are people I've used for 20 years; they accepted my description of the problem [no hot water], the error code [7 slow flashes], and the basic debugging I did [proper shutdown/restart, try adjusting temp upwards], didn't even suggest they do a service call up front, simply confirmed warranty and ordered the replacement part. I DO appreciate good service.)

Hahaha! Yep, it was pretty awful... we curled up on the couch wif a blanket and watched all the flooding on the news until we both dozed off for a nap. Then I got up and made supper. Gotta love those rainy, lazy days.
It was pretty bad. 1000's of homes flooded, parking lots with cars completely under water, several deaths... but there were a lot of really nice stories about people helping each other, as well. From the sounds of it, it's not over yet... we're supposed to get more rain today. Guess we'll just have to keep an eye out... fortunately for us, our house isn't in a flood zone and is on relatively higher ground than a lot of other places around here. We did our homework before we bought.

I certainly won't have to buy bubble wrap for awhile, that's for sure! I agree with the oil issue though...I'll be cleaning mine as well.

@Kaezziel so glad to see you here. When I heard, parts of Harris county got 1.5 feet of rain in 24 hours, I was concerned.

We actually got 12.5", according to the rain gauge in the back yard... I'm not very far from Bush Intercontinental Airport. There was some pretty serious flooding all around us, but we did alright. Just got a coupla limbs that need to be picked up... nothin' too serious. I figger dis haus has been 'round since da 70's, it'll be around for a long while still.

We're good, Darlin'. I'm kind of a survivalist wanna-be... got all kinds of food/water stocked up and enough firepower to keep da crazies at bay for a good long while... Da wifey laughs at me, 'cause I'm the only person that she knows that is actually looking forward to da zombie apocolypse!
