I'm trying to figure out how I got hit with a fish as I haven't done anything at all! But oh well...whatever floats your boat and pulls your bobber under. :p
I think that was in response to Dinger picking on me the other day about small shafts, and you having her back. And Kodak was just collateral damage because Dinger mentioner her.:)

Besides, Kad, you gotz Skully and Kaez and Whodat wif ya. It's really just me and Lynn and Kodak, trying to keep you guyz in line ;)

I figure Skully will be flinging fish here pretty soon!

Just as long as Kaez keeps the bar open....

See, she says that you all have to keep us inline. Well that just does not float my boat or bobber so just had to go against the grain. I do not like staying within the lines. Gotta think outside the box.

Mom started it. Do not want to hear it. Double fish is fine, that tuna chucked at you had to have hurt worse. Just saying.

The tuna just winged me, so it didn't hurt that much. You need to work on your aim a little bit :)

    Good morning all!

Yesterday was perfect weather, today looks to be another stunner. Didn't do much yestaday, feeling lazy and rolled with it.

I've come up with the changes I need to make the storage shelving in the mudroom suspended from the ceiling instead of sitting on the floor. We're talking healthy size, about 30"W x 40" D, 3 tier, sits over one of the dog crates. It's attached to walls on two sides, then has two 1x2 oak risers on the longer free-standing edge (oak is great for that -- amazingly strong wood). The biggest PITA will be emptying those shelves and bracing everything before removing the existing vertical oak pieces.

Ahh, well, won't be a job for today, starting a new dive class tonight :)

Yeah, I'll take a shot before pulling the existing risers, than one after the new setup is complete. Yesterday I just strung a 2x4 across existing ceiling beams (log cabin), which is what the new vertical posts will attach to.

Honestly I could build or buy a few sets of free-standing units easily enough, but it's nice to have this big setup. It stores several sets of large plastic drawers of dog stuff, dog towels, miscellaneous linens (comforters, bulk fabric,...) being stored, the typical "stuff" that accumulates in a mud room.

I'm only reworking it to help in the new flooring -- those vertical pieces are bonded together at the floor, another chunk of 1x2 oak running between them, then screwed to the floor. No way do we want to cut and install around it, with a seam, so pulling the existing setup is a given.

Our goal is to do this as a single sheet floating install, at most one or two seams for oddball areas. There are a large closet, a broom closet, and the alcove for the washer and dryer (with bifold doors); thresholds for those 3 spots are "natural", though I'm going to try to do the washer/dryer alcove as part of the main sheet (the geometry looks good).

    G'morning Mark!

I had to come back to work to be able to be lazy

We had some seepage in the basement from the torrential rains Friday night. SO has been working diligently to seal some of the corners - thought she had that one area well-covered, but it still snuck through. It's a really bad spot for water accumulation - an interior corner of the roof line, and heavy rains can overflow the gutters - it just all slops down at this one corner of the basement.

She got some more rubberized paint and was attacking it last night. I thought we were all going to get stoned! Even BDD had come down to the basement (where Momma is, there she shall be o_O) Couldn't get the dog to leave the basement for nuthin' last night. Barely got her out this morning to go potty :sneaky: Dumb Dog.

Hopefully THIS will help with the water leaking. I need to get up and clean those dang gutters {blergh} - I don't like ladders and I don't like heights :p

Perhaps look up french drain -- it isn't too tough unless your ground is terrible and you have zero slope (even with low slope you can slope the french drain pipe a little-- the goal is simply to direct the water past the edge of your house)

I've done one of those before - actually out at the fire pit area - that's another really low-lying area of my yard. It was merely a simple hole with a ton of gravel (at least that's how one style was supposed to work {shrug} )

I kind of have "negative" slope in this particular corner. I've been wanting to raise this area and grade away from the house a little bit more. I just have to be careful - My gas line runs in right in this corner, and I have a window I really don't want to block (too much)

Straight gravel works too, though I like pipe in the gravel. Our house has one spot, entrance for the water line from the well, that gets a little seep on very large storms. We also have electric and lpg gas lines coming in on that side (of course :) )

Our topology is that we're on a hill, but about 10' away (just past our LPG tank) is about a 7' high slope to another tier, where there's a field. I might try installing a drain system along the lower part of that slope. It's still definitely on our property, is likely the major source of the water that comes to that side of the house, and is definitely outside of utility line runs.

I used to love my Dreamcast haha.I bought it with like 40 games from a guy i worked with for like $75 or something crazy low like that.I eventually sold it to get a playstation when they came out.I still miss that Dreamcast though.

I never had a Dreamcast, so I don't really know what I'm missing... but my plan is to set up a game room and have all of the various systems set up. I may skip some of them, but at a minimum, I want all of the Playstations and all of the Nintendos. And the Atari will most definitely be set up! :p:lol:

haha, same here.My mom got me an Atari for Christmas shortly after they came out,and i was hooked from then on.I lost interest a little as i got older, but when my older son got interested in them,i started playing them with him,and have been re-hooked ever since haha.My wife hates it,because on the weekends,i will wake up before my younger son just so i can go play on his Xbox one.I'll sit in there probably 2-3 hours, then when he wakes up,i'll spend another couple hours playing it with him haha.

Same here... except I never lost interest! I've been playing video games since I got my first Tandy computer (before the Atari, IIRC, but maybe not). Hell, I even play games on the Amazon FireTV thingy... I'm pretty much hopeless...

Hey krewe, can I ask y'all for a favor? I just got off the phone with my mom, she's had some tests, biopsies etc the last couple weeks, and she just got confirmation today she has breast cancer. She's having surgery Thursday. Supposedly a small tumor and they expect to get it out no problem. Anyway, guess I'm just worried so...yeah.

Absolutely!!!!! You have my most sincere thoughts and prayers, Brother. I'm very happy to hear that it sounds like they caught it early enough that she has a very good prognosis for recovery and continued health. I am extremely grateful that she paid attention, and that she is getting prompt treatment for it. All will be well, my friend. Try not to worry yourself too much (I know, easier said than done). They have come up with wonderful treatments and protocols for breast treatment in the past decade; she is in good hands!

Yes, bad weather. Tornado warning. Thanks all but I have to shut down now because I can see lightning. Sheet!

Hiya Hun! Glad ya popped by, and definitely glad that it sounds like y'all did alright with the storm.

Yabutt... She mentioned that I was on your side, and Skully hit me wif fish anyway... o_O

Nah... this is how Kaz colors...
