I agree! I haven't won in the last couple of contests and I don't whine about it...I'm happy to see friends win! And it is completely random and luck of the draw that some "appear" to win all the time, which isn't always true if you go back and look

The contests are fun. People have a good time. I get that winning means a lot to some people who aren't winning. Patience, man. 6 big contests down, at least, in the last SIX months? 3 more on deck? GONNA happen if ya want it.

They went so far as to say they were Detective so and so with badge number blah blah on the phone with me....They were rather taken aback when I told them I worked with a Police Department and would run the badge number and call them back after verifying authenticity....Asked for a call back number and he hung up lol!

It's brazen! And I look at my own Father, who was the cleverest and most leery and cynical on the "sucker" scale. Now that he is old, he falls for the stupidest stuff. Part is diminishing sharpness of the mind, part is wishful optimism of that last big score.

I gotta talk him down all the TIME now over scam emails. Thanks to his new wife, I get the skinny quick, and actually had to ARGUE him into ceasing communications with a certain African Prince who was looking for help to transfer his millions.. I am NOT even kidding.

I fear growing that old. I think when I hit 80, I'm going to put my kids as co-signers on all my finances, so anything I am going to spend, requires their approval as well. Sounds brutal, but I am seeing with my own two eyes, what can happen to.. lucidity. Those phone scammers are REAPING those fields, and are the worst kinda pox on society..

Top of the morning, good people. Apologies for my outburst in that other thread. I don't mind the people whining that THEY haven't won, and others seem to win all the time. That just is what it is, and is at least honest and clear to everyone.

But when someone who hasn't done jack squat for the community, whines because THEY haven't won, and drags everyone else in, pretending that THEY looking out for the community?!? Yeah, that trips a few of my circuits.

Eh, I'm relatively immune to occasional venting, but that particular jackrabbit has about 200 contest entries, and almost to a single one, the entry involves some kind of whining about the mode, or who is doing the winning, or what his chances are. Be kinda ironic he wins a prize whining about how everyone else is winning the prize..

So yeah, I have tolerance, but serial whiners ain't ON that list..

Part of the reason I've been scarce on the Luggy thread is because I don't have the wherewithal to post 24/7 there. Sure, I LOVE to win in a contest (and I have been blessed to win in a few) But if I don't, I'm not going to begrudge ANYONE who does.

I'm sure that SJ and LTN put forth a LOT of effort to coordinate these things. After all the pissing and moaning, I'm surprised they continue. I'd be up to my grey roots with it and say Fuggedaboutit.

And, "Post" isn't chatting in a thread.

It's funny how the first smoke led to the next, and pretty soon to buying a pack, then another. And before I knew it, the vape stuff is pushed aside, and I'm rationalizing why it's easier to smoke at work than to vape, or why I'm going to allow myself to have that cigarette in the car (because 30 minutes is an eternity, who cares that the car is only a couple months old, and I swore it would never be smoked in) and next thing I know, even reading the posts on ECF made me feel like a hypocrite, never mind posting anything.

I was so gung ho when I joined ECF last September, I can't figure out how a couple months later I felt like I shouldn't be here (because I'm smoking again, as if no one here has ever done that)

So anyway, I returned this week because I am ready to quit again. Dusted off the VTC Mini and Ego One, batteries charged, started dual using this week, and am planning on tomorrow being my new Day 1.

I'm glad I saw the light in the window that told me where the shenanigans had moved to. This time I won't be leaving unless someone makes me, no matter what happens after today.
