i'm with you - i think the term 'e-cigarette' has MUCH more negative connotations... part of the challenge, though, with the term 'vaping' is the association with the oft stereotyped 'clouds bruh' enthusiast - bit of a catch 22, given the context...Someone made the comment that they disliked the term vaping because of the connotations and that we should just say we use e-cigarettes. I respond, I think e-cig has more negative connotations, what connotations are you talking about. Naturally he mentioned the 'cloud bros and hipsters' and then he went on with 'the dumb things that some vapers say. Examples such as vaping is 95% healthier than analogs'
I'd be confused about why he calls that a dumb thing, but when he started talking about how there haven't been any studies done, and how vapers should stop spreading that kind of exaggeration and misinformation, etc it was obvious that he was either a troll or was completely clueless about the origin of that statement. Last I checked that was made by people who had reviewed countless studies.
I mighta told him, not quite so politely, to stick his misinformation and exaggeration where the sun don't shine.
Oddly, you wanna know the part of his whole argument that bugged me the most? As an example of the negative connotations of the term 'vaper' he said this picture, which looks like a perfectly ordinary girl to me, was an example of the steroetypical vaper.

I'm probably gonna regret doing this, can't begin to imagine what was going through my mind to actually think about this. I must be crazy.
So I might have mentioned that I'm not quite sure what I believe these days. I haven't set foot in a church (other than wedding and funerals) in a few years, but I do still "pray" in my own way, even if I'm not always sure who to. That's in quotes because it isn't what most people would recognize as prayer. Music is extremely important to me, singing , even just to myself, is part of how I respond to all sorts of situations and emotions. It is also, frequently, a kind of prayer.
For some reason a song came to mind today and became the "prayer" for today. For some reason I also thought that I wanted to share it with you. Maybe odd coming from someone who claims to be agnostic, but the song is simply titled "Jesus" and it was one of the songs from the final album that Rich Mullins recorded. I used to love his music.
Now for the really crazy part, instead of just linking to any old YouTube video I could find, I did this. Please forgive the lousy lighting, the terrible camera, and the guy who had no clue just how dorky he looked when singing to himself.
I'm gonna go run off now until everybody stops laughing.
ETA - Also, forgive the lack of accompaniment. I really do sing better with it than without.

I'm so unplugged today....... lots to do, and no energy. I think my batteries are depleted.![]()
Wow! *applause* As I always taught my kids, "Sing it, baby!"
Did you know, when you pull the spark plug on the mower to check it, you have to actually put the plug wire back in place? Been trying to start this mower all afternoon, and then I notice the plug wire... d'OH!!Sounds like a GREAT reason to find a comfy chair, a cold beer, and a good vape.Happy Sataday!

That's what I get for trying to work, when I could be napping.
Omg, I don't know what my girls sound like to others, but to me, it's definitely the sound of Angels.. I was sitting in my office a few months ago, and heard my 16 year old start singing, sounded SO sweet. About fell outta my chair when I realized it was "La vie en rose". Wut da..?! I had to sneak closer, because if she knew I was enjoying it, she would have stopped. The things they learn when you're not watching! La vie en rose!
Hey now Sweet Child of Mine, don't be dissin' my Guns n Roses, or I'm gonna run out of Patience with you.Aww, that must have been beautiful, LLB. I have 2 boys, 13 yrs. apart. Both of them formed bands and practiced constantly. When they sang in their rooms, they were usually amplified, no mistaking where it was coming from. I particularly enjoyed the period when my oldest son sang Guns n Roses songs, over and over and over.![]()
Keep it up and you might be Knockin' on Heaven's Door!Hey now Sweet Child of Mine, don't be dissin' my Guns n Roses, or I'm gonna run out of Patience with you.I thought I could at least find a way to work Welcome to the Jungle into this. Maybe Mr Brownstone can help me figure it out when I take the Nightrain to visit him and his Rocket Queen in Paradise City. He'll probably tell me It's So Easy, and I'll tell him You're Crazy. And, ummm, yeah I got nothing else.
