Thank you. If you use ever need to chat give me a pm and I will give you my number.

Thank you. I will definitely keep that in mind and may reach out at some point. :)

Oh darlin', my heart just breaks with this news...sending lots of prayers and healing energy for your sister and family...(((HUGS))) to you all.

Thank you, Angel. Sis is doin' much better this morning. They've moved her out of ICU and she's starting to eat a bit. Emotionally, she's just trying to figure things out and bounces between crying fits... I can't say that I blame her. I can't imagine the pain that she is going through right now. :(

lmao. started playing that, and it got Ozzy's attn who was on the couch beside me, but it also brought Frankie runnin in from the back bedroom, to see what was going on.

LOL! That lady got famous after that and has done a bunch of other appearances since.
This was the original news interview.

oh honey, I'm soooooo sorry! That just breaks my heart. I don't understand either. Anytime is heartbreaking, but especially so late in the pregnancy when you think everything is fine. Glad your sis is stable, but many prayers for her (physically and emotionally) and all of you!

I so wish I could get there. I'd gladly come and stay with her!

Thank you, Darlin'. It's definitely a tough, heartbreaking situation... :(

As for the funeral, I don't think that she's going to do one. Not sure what she's going to do yet, but she doesn't want to have a headstone where they are now, because she's not sure if they're going to stay in Springfield or not. I think that she's considering cremation and then figuring it all out later.

The display on my SDNA 75 has pretty much stopped working. I can get it to show if I keep messing with settings, in escribe, but then it stops working again...
I've even restored default settings, but no joy.

That sounds like a PITA. Could be that one if the chips is starting to go bad and losing settings/data. That's the only real downside to the regulated mods... eventually anything electronic will fail and troubleshooting it is a pain.

I am so sorry Kaez. Love and healing to you and your family. Very sad. Wishing the best.

Thank you, Cathy. I love my sister dearly, and I really just wish that there was something that I could do for her... I now share the frustration that she's had over not being able to do anything for me and DB. There is just too much hardship in this world...

Pay close attention to point #7, it does make a difference.

Just in case you are having a rough day (week, year, and life), here is a stress management technique recommended in all the latest psychological journals. The funny thing is that it really does work.

0

1. Picture yourself lying on your tummy on a warm rock that hangs out over a crystal clear stream.

2. Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool running water.

3. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air.

4. No one knows your secret place.

5. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the world.

6. The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.

7. The water is so crystal clear that you can easily make out the face of the person you are holding underwater.

There!! See? It really does work.

You're smiling already.

LMAO!! That's pretty much how I deal with stress on a daily basis... ;)

My job is secure! Thank you!! All of the positive vibes, good thoughts and prayers worked. I'm inside a good, fun cell. And it's the exact one I wanted to go into! :) :) :) :)

AWESOME!!!! So glad that things are working out for you, SweetPea!! :rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:

I did get the display stand put together and just had to bring it in to see how it looked with the pens. Lordy, I didn't realize just how many I had sitting around. Now to figure out what to do with them.

That stand came out awesome! A slightly larger version would be perfect for tube mechs, too. ;) I may have to steal your design idea!

I got some bad news yesterday, and would like to ask for prayers and loving, healing thoughts for my little sister. She was a little over 7 months pregnant and had her baby shower on Saturday. Yesterday, she lost the baby. I'm not real clear on the details, but it seems that the placenta detached prematurely. She apparently had some bleeding yesterday morning so she and her husband went in to the ER. They couldn't hear the baby's heartbeat and did an ultrasound to confirm then did a C-section. They let my sister and my mom hold the baby afterwards. She was named Isabella Grace. Afterwards, my sister was still losing blood... they ended up giving her about 4 units of blood and some meds to help with clotting. As of last night, she was still in ICU and was having some kind of allergic reaction to something that they had given her, but Mama said that she was stable. I've not heard anything else yet this morning, but I am very worried and sad for my sister. Out of all my siblings, she is the kindest, most loving, and supportive. Just another instance that really makes me wonder why such horrible things have to happen to the best people...

Oh, Honey, I am so very sorry. You already have enough on your plate. And I can tell you are a wonderful, loving husband AND brother. Good thoughts for your sister's recovery. Please take care of yourself. Sending much love and good will.....((((HUGS))))

Thank you. The 3 on the far right are Purpleheart, Padauk, and Ebony.

    Thank you.

Thank you. I'm sure you could.

Thank you. You recognized one of them. They are Purpleheart and Padauk.

    Thank you.

There are actually 3 of them that are the spalted tamarind, The first, third, and seventh. I really should have grouped them a bit better but I was in a hurry to get the pic posted. It is a bit hard to see but on the 7th ink pen, I did an inlay with brass shavings because of a tear-out during turning.
I still have some of the Olive wood from Bethlehem but those are turned when I know who they are going to be getting them.
I think I can see the brass fill at the bottom of the 3rd one.

Those are GORGEOUS!!!!!!! Do you make them for left-handers ;)

A few years back, I received the "requisite" monogrammed pen/pencil for various work anniversaries. However, they monogram them for RIGHT-HANDED people, and I happen to write left-handed. So, my initials are upside down  They're not very well-weighted/balanced writing instruments, so I don't use them anyway. They are "pretty" though....
My daughter is a lefty and loves hers. So I guess they are ambidextrous.

    I love the purpleheart…but they're all beatiful!
    Thank you.

@Diver9543 , I comment on the porch, but will say again your work is beautiful and that stand is perfect
And I will gladly say Thank You, again. ;)

Thank you. A coworker gave me a whole lot of exotic wood that her father had in his garage. She was in the process of moving him into assisted living. The only thing she asked for was 4 pens in purpleheart and she even gave me the purpleheart.

Life certainly hasn't been boring for the past several years... though I could probably do with a bit of boredom. I have one brother and two sisters (I'm the oldest), and I love them all and would do anything for any of them... but this particular sister is definitely my favorite sibling. Unabashedly so. She and I were the "smart" ones in the family... we were nerds and since I'm 4 years older than her, I would help her with her homework when we were younger. Our brother falls in between us, being 2 years younger than I am, and then the baby sister is 10 years younger than me. I was out of the house long before she finished school. LOL... but the baby sister has my "I'll fight anybody... and win!" attitude.:lol::lol:

Thank you, I have found some of my best ideas come from others. :glug:

Hahahaha! Mine too! Most of the time, my "original" ideas are complete failures!

I can relate. My original design, of the PVC frame for the garden bird netting, was a complete flop. When I decided to try the Quonset hut approach, I hit the BINGO! Thank you, whoever came up with the Quonset hut!
(the Quonset hut, is actually a redesign of the British, Nissen hut)
I've since made improvements (in my mind) to make it more sturdy, and next year, I won't need a fence around the garden. The entire space will be covered by 2 netting huts. :)
No birds, no rabbits, no deer, no Melvin in my garden.

    Love the purple hair!
    Totally agree!

No, they are both weird, trust me lol! But I love the things they come up with because they are so far outside the box :D

    THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!
Welcome back!! I've missed you!! Your girls are similar to my kids. Laura's hair has been blue, pink, purple and rainbow. She couldn't have colored hair where she used to work so since it's cool where she works now, she's gone wild. I never know what color will show up next. Same with tattoos. She's working on finishing up a sleeve on one arm. Colton's hair color right now is platinum blonde.

I've gotten used to the "not norm" :) My youngest got her first tatoo when they were in Austin Tx about 2 weeks ago...Dad about flipped his lid! Come to find out, he wasn't upset she got it, he was upset that he didn't get to take her to get her first one

*flying tackle hugs that almost flip the chair over*
HEEEYYYYYYY, HONEY!!! OMG, you have been hidin' for a while... no sneakin' in here!:wub::wub: Hopin' that things settle down for you so that you can make it by here a little more often. I've been worried about you. :(

I have been hiding for awhile, I know. I kept meaning to pop in and then life kept taking over *sigh*

She has all of my prayers as I understand what she's going through. I lost my first baby when I was 5 1/2 months along. It will take time and a lot of love to get her through it :( If you make it up here and you need anything you let me know since I'm very close by!

(((((((((kodak)))))))))) so good to see you!!! what's wrong wiff yur puppy though??

Gratz on your daughter graduating! great pics of yur kids and the kid to be if he ever gets his nerve up :D

lol newp, we have lotza purple chairs in this thread!

The yorkie unexplainably got the squirts and has had em for a week or so. She quit eating for awhile too, which scared me to death..It's just the last 2 days that things seem to be going back to normal.
She turned her nose up at the "prescription" dog food that the vet gave her too!

I'm uber excited about the youngest kiddo graduating because I'm soooooo close to being an empty nester! It took the hubby awhile to accept the kid to be as he *gasp* doesn't eat meat  Now he refers to him as his future son in law lol! They've been together for a little over a year, and the kid to be let it slip during a New Year's party (he was a little inebriated) that he was saving up for a ring for her. He doesn't remember telling her which amuses us all :)

And now I think I'm caught up lol

Here is the latest from my pen turnings. A friend of mine ask for a pen made out of Olive wood and who am I to resist such a request. After a few messages and photos of the wood blanks, this blank was picked out. The wood blank appeared to be nice with markings that went all the way through the blank. I hope she likes it as much as I do.

Good morning! :) Lots of strong thunderstorms here last night. At work we kept hoping the power would go out but it didn't. Getting ready for the 100 degree temps that's being forecasted for the end of the week plus the girl child and grandson's arrival here on Friday. After being on my own for over a year, I'm not real sure how I'm going to like sharing my space again. It is what it is so I'll deal with it. :)
I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Yeah they do. This is her 4th time coming back and as bad as I hate to say it, her last. She's 26 years old and it's time for her to get her act together and provide a home for herself and her son.

The squirrels were eating all our veggies. There are TONS of them because we live in a heavily wooded area. We built a "cage" for the garden. 2x2 frame and chicken wire all around and roof.
