Kayfun 3.1 build deck screws

Does anyone know where I can get replacement screws for the build deck on the kayfun 3.1 (hcigar clone)?

Barring that, does anyone know what size they are so I can go try to find some spares on my own?

The positive screw was very, very tight when I got mine (pretty sure there was some machining gunk in there) and the head got slightly damaged when I unscrewed it. Still usable, but I'd like to replace it sometime soon if I can.

I've tried searching for them, and the only thing I've found is the spare parts from Vaperev, which is out of stock for the 3.1.

Now for the next question...where do I get screws that size?

I've called around to a couple of local hardware stores, but they don't carry them. Google has found a few places that make them, but nowhere that I can buy them...

You can order these from Fastenal. They are straight slot instead of Phillips.

These have to be ordered in a box of 50. Check around the Fastenal website and you may find smaller amounts that can be purchased. You may have to get longer ones than needed and cut them off to the correct length.

Looks like these can be ordered in quantities of one or more. They are 8mm long.

Hopefully I can find them. I'm not entirely comfortable with cutting my own down (every time I've done so in the past I've ended up destroying the screw threads). 3mm screws seem far more plentiful than 2mm screws in this case.

If that's the case then they would be a lot easier to find...

I'd take apart my Kayfun to measure but A) It's full atm and I don't really want to drain it and B) I don't have any calipers

In case anyone is curious, I emailed Svoemesto to ask what the size was (on the authentic, I'm hoping they're close) and the response I got was M1.6 4mm

I will measure my own today to double check. Tank should run low enough a bit later.

I measured this when I took apart my Kayfun for cleaning. It appears that they are indeed 4 mm long, so the correct size for the build deck screws is:

M1.6x4mm

Most hardware stores that stock 'bulk' stainless steel metric machine thread screws will usually only go down to M2 size (2mm).

M1.6 is VERY rare. Best to go with Fastenal it appears.

i need the one that has the air hole in the middle and tightens down the positive part of the deck (center pin i guess their calling it). Damn thing snapped on me wile trying to tighten down the positive section real good so it wont move when trapping my coil. I found some place that sells russian atomizer parts which should work... but they want $16 for one!!! can you believe that 'ish.

I guess it's a common part breaking on people with Hcigar kayfun clones.

Here's the site if you wanna check'em out. The o-rings and tiny screws ain't to bad of a price i guess. i just lucked out and broke the most expencive replacement part. The parts should work on Hcigar, russian, and real kayfun. Might work on some other clones as well.

Yea man, the one I need is like asol unless it made for the kayfun. I've never seen a screw with a hole down the middle with external threading at the top and internal threading at the bottle. The price they want for it though I literally paid 6 bucks over than for the entire atty.

Oh well, that's what I get for buying a clone I guess. I need to grab some original kayfun lite pluses. The original kayfun 3.1 I have is the bomb and I love it to death. It's just a little to tall for me. I rock my Russian 91% a lot do to the smaller size. And even though most Russian and legit kayfun parts are spot on and interchangeable, I sware the legit kayfun has deeper juice wells in it. And the material is obviously way better as well.

I'm thinking it has to be hollow at the top and have a hole through it a little ways up for air flow. I think that's why they break. The hole drilled into the hollow part weakens them.

Edit: Is your center screw one piece or two? The 3.1 usually has one screw up through the positive terminal and it's not adjustable. I think it's the russian that has a two piece screw and is adjustable.

McMaster-Carr sells M1.6x4mm stainless screws, but only in boxes of 100 for $10... yeah, I know, 100 of them, but they are only $.10 a piece. I had ZERO luck finding stainless screws this size in local hardware stores, and don't want to go with zinc as they will rust.

I'm will calling them on Saturday so I'll let you know how they look if you're interested.

Mr Metric has them for $0.06 each, no minimum (from what I can see).

They actually match the DIN given to me by Svoemesto as well.

Edit: Of course, they have a $6 shipping cost... seems silly if I only want 2 or so screws...
