Hi everyone,
Just broke the top off of one my the screws on my kayfun deck. This clone must be junk, because I barely torqued it with the flathead. If I go to lowes will they be able to give me a similar screw that will work? Any idea as to what the size/type might be called? This is my one and only non-dropper, so it definitely qualifies as an emergency. Thanks!

I gutted a dead laptop hard drive a while back - the screws worked on my KFL clone - might work for you if you have some dead electronics laying around.

Wonderful suggestion. If this works, and most hardrives have suitable screws, I think every kayfun owner owes you a thanks! I have two dead laptops sitting at my friends house; I'll grab them tomorrow and get busy.

By the way, since the screw isn't stripped, I managed to get it to work. vaping happily til I get the hard drives. Thanks again.

I would take the good bolt to the hardware store and match it.

I took it to lowes, home depot, and radio shack; they all said the same thing: go to an electronics store. I think there's one close by me, so I'll vape what's in my tank and go down there tomorrow.

No offense but the stores you mentioned are not hardware stores. It is a shame the home improvement stores have pushed out actual hardware stores but you probably have one around you somewhere.

I have two, but it was 8:45 when I left the house and they both closed at 8. Lowe's and home depot have aisles upon aisles of screws and close at 10pm on weeknights-- figured it wasn't unreasonable to check.

Anyway, do you really reckon that even a proper local hardware store would have something like this? Everyone with whom I spoke said that, for screws so small, an electronics shop would be my best bet.

Yes. A good hardware store should have a good selection of screws this size. Even in stainless.
