Hey guys,

I've been trying to dial in this EHpro kayfun Lite Plus for a bit now. I've figured out how to build it with micro coils and cotton, well enough that it's vapeable..... But, no matter what I've done, I seem to have to do primer pulls every once in awhile. I usually run around a 1 ohm micro, with 26ga, straight across the deck, using the cotton straight up then tucked down technique. It works, but I'd still like to be rid of the primer pulls and inconsistent wicking.

Now, I've been trying to set it up with ReadyX 2mm, and have been having a terrible time with it. I have the stuff in my Patriot, and love it. I've ran it straight across and down to the deck, over the channel, to the side of the channel, frayed and unfrayed. I've ran it diagonal and looped down to the deck, channel covered and not. I've even ran it looped down, then back up over to the other side. Point is, no matter how I do it, it absolutely will NOT wick.

So, first question, has anyone successfully ran 2mm ReadyX in a kayfun Lite? How did you get it to work exactly?

Secondly, with my problems with cotton, is it possible that my channels are too shallow? I've taken a triangle ceramic knife stone and taken a bit of material off all channels, but didn't want to go too far until I knew my wicking wasn't the problem. Anybody had this issue with their EHpro? Happen to have pictures from above, with lower chimney in place, on a working setup, so I can judge my channels?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

While I can't offer any advice on the ReadyX, I can say that I ran into a similar problem with my EHPro clone. My problem was resolved by using less wick. A lot less. Make sure that your cotton is not "choking" the coil and make sure that you have just enough to cover the lower deck without blocking the juice holes.

I used to assemble it like you, with "straight up then tucked down", but after watching how Rip Trippers does his wicks, using juice as a "glue" and getting it just right before putting on the chimney, my problems disappeared.

Also, if you decide to pick up another clone down the road, try and find the HCigar version, drastically outperforms my EHPros. YMMV

That's another strange one for me, being a Rip Trippers fan, is that I started out building exactly like that.... Couldn't get it to feed whatsoever. Arrived at a bit more cotton, and the up/down deal, to get where I'm at now!

I seem to be the odd one out. Lol

Thanks for the reply.

He does recommend the vertical "stove pipe" orientation of the coil, but I found that to not produce very good results. Of course I only tried it once! LOL. Maybe I just got better at making coils and building on the Kayfun, idk, but I did figure out the sweet spot ohm wise for the kayfun, at least for me it's between 1.3 and 1.5 ohms with 30 gauge kanthal.

I use the RxW in my KFL and my R91 exclusively. However, with the 2mm stuff, I find dual coils work best, especially sub ohm.

I wrap my coils directly on the wick tightly and with a paper clip inside the RxW. Because it's not a sponge like cotton I don't worry about choking. I fray the ends and push them right down onto the channels away from the block.

Knocked it out of the park, guys. I simply waited to have a 12 gauge syringe needle on hand to wrap a coil for the 3mm. It was similar in the dimension difference I needed... which I found using a 16ga needle to wrap for the 2mm RxW in my drippers... with success.

Was using mine, so I built my girlfriend's new Lite+ with a 28ga micro at 1.6-ohm, threaded the 3mm stuff into the coil, ran a 16ga needle through the wick, then cut to length to reach the deck... chimney threaded on, careful to keep wicks just sitting on the deck. Too cold for a mechanical, but haven't gotten a dry hit yet... even though I rarely see any bubbles from the juice channels, like cotton, when feeding.

The 1-ohm 26ga micro/3mm RxW setup in my Kayfun has been flawless as well. I officially have ReadyXwick working in every atomizer I own.... Even Protank coils. Love it.

Thanks for the help.
