Hi, I've always loved my kayfun clones! Never had ANY troubles with them! Well, the other day I got a new EHPRO kayfun and to my shock it was giving me dry hits! I know it wasn't my build or wicking so I wanted to get to the bottom of this problem. I compared my kayfuns and noticed the new kayfun, or EHPRO kayfun's juice channels were far more shallow than my other kayfuns.so the juice was not able to reach the wick properly and give enough juice to wet the wick properly. So i had a idea! I got a Dremel and a small stone and I deepened all the juice channels. Now she vapes like a dream and no more dry hits. If you are needing to do this use caution on the area where the chimney threads as you don't want to ruin the threading. It made all the difference in the world! Now she's working perfectly!! I wanted to share this with you all in hopes of helping someone else who may be having issues with their EHPRO kayfuns. Hope this helps out. Worked perfectly for me!!:):D

I thought about doing this as well. Normally I have zero dry hits unless I try to use 100% VG, then it's impossible to get to wick correctly. But now Ehpro came out with a new version that has 2 air holes. So I am thinking of replacing all my Ehpro Kayfuns with the new version to get better air flow.

Don't bother. The air inlet hole isn't the thing that is restricting the airflow. It is the center shaft holes. The actual hole in the center and the cross hole through that shaft. Enlarge those with a #51 drill bit and you will get better airflow. But that is still smaller than the 7/64 air inlet hole in the base body. Having 2 of base air inlets won't increase the overall airflow to the atomizer chamber.

So you drilled out the cross holes in the center pin and it helped the air flow? I thought about trying that before, but wasn't sure if it would help.

Drill out both the cross hole and the center hole. Yes it will increase the airflow. I've done that to most of my Kayfun's. Still got 2 to go IIRC.

Once you do that you have to be a little careful when reassembling. Don't over tighten that center screw.

I also try to line up the cross hole with the body hole when reassembling. That also stopped some of the noise, whistle, I was getting on one of my EHPro Kayfun's.

I started with a #52 bit then went to the #51 on the first one I did. But on the second and third I just used the #51 (Numbered bits are bigger as the number goes down). You can get numbered drill bits at most GOOD Hardware stores. If you can't find them at your local hardware store you can order them from McMaster-Carr.com (great place to find just about anything. It's like the best online hardware store you'll ever find).

BTW did this today to the new dual airflow Kayfuns I just got in the mail. And I am not sure if it's drilling out the center post that helped (there was a difference before and after before drilling) or the dual airflow, but a lot looser draw now. Not that it was bad before, but more to my liking for the coil I run.

BTW you better know what you are doing if you snap a bit. That happened to me during the process.

Have to leave for job#2 soon and won't have time to throw a build on it, but I definitely will tonight when I get home.

I purchased an ehpro also and when i tested it out new there was no air flow at all.
I took it apart and found that the center post was not drilled out completely.
I redrilled it with a 1/16 bit down the center.
I have had 10 of the clones that I use and give away.
I have 3 now, all are drilled and i use 28 ga with 8 wraps for 1.7 ohms
Great hits with moderate clouds and excellent flavor.
I dont like the amount of juice i use now.(went from protank mini to a Kayfun. OMG)
I have also found plastic shavings in the center post from factory assembly.
Now I pre drill/clean out of the box.
Kayfuns rock.

This is a pic of the first kayfun i had problems with.
It always seemed to have a tight draw.
After I got my second one I took it apart and found this.
I keep it to show people.I messed up the threads on the bottom so it is no longer good.

+1 for drilling out the center post. You do need to be careful though. I have overtightened one and had it snap in half one me. I really find the airflow perfect though with the center pin drilled. I wish I could find a Kayfun designed with a thicker pin and larger air channel that would allow for a more open draw right from the factory. It would probably take about 10 minutes of work to come up with the design....are you listening Clayfun makers??
