two completely different systems.

the kayfun leads for quality and reliability VS ease of setup for most people.

the Kraken will be a genesis style atomizer with a much higher learning curve and will need more care, like making sure you dont lay it down too long, learning how to prepare steel mesh wicks and a couple other things.

as for flavor and vapor both are top notch, but the kraken will def put out more vapor especially set up in dual wick mode.

for most people the choice is easy, you pretty much get the ease of use you see with a clearomizer. with the ability to rebuild the wicks in the kayfun, flavor is rich and the system is reliable.

In my opinion the genesis users are a slightly different breed of vapors looking for maximum vapor and nicotine delivery efficiency with rich flavor that many feel while not as strong as other systems is very clean and sharp..

it is not for everyone, and def will throw a first time rebuilders for a loop or two as the genesis while being an awesome device probably commands the highest learning curve.

i use both types of systems and i think they both rock but for me nothing beats a properly setup genesis atty.

It's also hard to rate a clone. Too many different manufacturers. There are apparently some really good kayfun clones out there right now, but they're not ALL good. There's some crap too. I bet there's an awesome Kraken clone out there....probably a junk one too. With clones, it's sometimes quite a gamble. I hear there are some amazing Nemesis clones available for 20-30 bucks. They say they're hard to tell apart from the real ones. I've seen one that a guy got from FT and it was outstanding. I've also seen one for sale at a local b&m for $54...it was a cheap POS. Tubes didn't fit together, the finish sucked and it had brass contacts. I'd get a real one if you can swing it...if not, research as best you can who made it.

I was all ready to give a great post here… but Thrasher nailed it as dead center as a person can!!

I run both styles and love both. In the end the genie is what I will reach for every time but I have the ability to keep my atty upright at all times, and I change elevation lot and geni's don't care about that. Tanks can… with that said the Kayfun design is the best of all vacuum tank attys out there IMO! It will matter who makes it however.

I can't speak to the genie as I have not used one. But I can speak about the Kayfun Lite. I have one "real" Kayfun Lite and two Kayfun Lite clones made by Tobeco. I can tell no difference between the three of them at all in both quality and vaping. The parts will even interchange between them. I build my coils with 30 ga wire and use organic cotton from CVS that has been boiled in distilled water twice. This setup works great for me.

So if the gennies are not the best to have then why is it that people say to start with with RSST? Wow i have so much to learn. I just want to build coils and all of the ones i look at seem very nice. I know i would use them at home and when i am not at work but i dont need anything that i cant just throw in my pocket and go. I saw this guy out and he had a kayfun clone that he was using so i guess it is something that does not have to stay sitting straight up?

I think many say to start with the RSST - IF - you want to use a geni. for a cheap genesis it is a little friendlier AND has the benefit of being made well for a very low price. nothing worse then popping 50 to 150 bucks and saying man I dont like this.

it has to be noted that fasttech and halfway decent made attys for 15 bucks is still relatively new in the vaping universe. before that it was something like the aga or rsst for 30-40 bucks or 100+ for a good one. choices are different today then 6 months ago.

my point is genesis compared to OTHER types of atty's are not the easiest to get going. with something like a kayfun in it's basic form you can wrap some wire on a wick attach it to the posts your done. maybe a small adjustment. and in 99% of the cases thats it, you have a great atty thats dependable and works awesome.

on the other hand using a genesis with mesh wicks takes some understanding of how to set up the wick. making a decent coil. knowing how to check for hotspots and how to properly adjust the coil to stop shorting and hotspots.

many newer people use them and start with them, some are more proficient then others, and will come down to how well you like tinkering and if your mechanically inclined as well as understanding things like why it would short and things like that.

a genesis isnt impossible and with enough patience can be used by anyone who can rebuild other things, but it is usually understood its a big leap if it is your first rebuildable and thats all we are saying.

as for vapor and flavor i prefer a good genesis over everything else so far. i love the kayfun but im not willing to invest 200 hours of tweaking and playing with coils to try and get where i am with geni's after using them for 2 years. for me in 5 minutes i have my genesis running like it does all the time, every time.

It will ultimately be up to you to decide what YOU think has the vapor, flavor and results you are searching for.

we are just trying to prepare you for what may lie ahead with your choices ;)

I appreciate all your insite. I might end up trying both. I just wanted to understand more about what i was doing. Is there clone of kayfun that you just really like. I see there are so many out there. Some have said rocket that i have seen. Those seem to be the least expensive. Not that it matters i just cant afford to drop 100+ on anything. i think about 50 is all the wife will let me get away with and still live to see the next day. lol I have also seen one from tobeco and that one seems a little more expensive depending on who is selling it. Do you have one you like?

I have 2 AGA-T2s. I like them well enough when I get them set up decently. My one big complaint is simply that I have to keep them upright or they leak. That makes them a sitting at the computer only device. End result is I do not use them much.

I do wish I had jumped into the gennys with the RSST though rather than the AGA-T2s. The way the tank is built and the wick hole is insulated removes some common places new to genny people have problems/shorts. In fact I was planning to start with the RSST but a friend sold me 2 AGA-T2 for the price I would have paid for 1 RSST. SO yeah I dove into the deep end before learning to swim. I did in the end learn to set it up but it was a fairly painful experience getting there.

I have a kayfun lite clone on the way that the hubby ordered for me. I am hoping that works out a bit better for me.

I have two of the Kayfun Lite clones made by Tobeco that I purchased off of Ebay for less than $40 each with free shipping. They are just like the original Kayfun Lite I have except the clones have air flow control. The two clones vape just as good and look just as good as the original.
