Kayfun fill port stripped

Hello everyone. I have a kayfun with a stripped fill port. I dont know what version or who makes it. It has no markings, hex screw for the airflow control and fill port is a small phillips screw with no o-ring. Anyone have a fix for this? I just ordered one from fasttech and I know Ill have a bit of a wait. Im using my old vivi nova but its just not as good. Do they make screw tap/die sets that small? Some kind of rubber plug? Any ideas welcome!

I used to use Teflon tape when I used to vape regular kayfun lite.

Yes - individual 2, 2.5 and 3mm drill/tap kits are readily available - as are small metric sets.
Your options are, once you determine the current screw size - and desired oversize... a cheap tap and drill set from a hobbyist supply, or a Loctite Form-a-Thread repair kit... which, not too surprisingly, is the more costly of the two methods. ;-)

Thank you much for the advice. I will go the father in law route first and then buy an individual kit if he doesn't have it. Any advice on how to accurately measure the screwsize?

Take the old screw with you to the hard where store they will help you up size with tap and screw

Funny! If my sons-in-laws didn't have me... they couldn't pound a nail, let alone drill and tap a hole. ;-)

As Harlen suggests is the quickest... unless father-in-law has a metric tap & die set with a thread pitch gauge.

Big box hardware stores aren't worth a crap for this sort of thing... if you have a mom n' pop hardware, or a hobby shop in your location, they're more likely to have small metrics.

Just a thought here but the cap for the needle tip fill bottles works perfect!

If you don't have any luck with taping out the fill hole, you can always seal the fill hole with bees wax (for example) and fill the Kayfun from the top.

More great suggestions! Thanks everyone. I have a few small mom&pop hardware stores in the area to choose from. I'll hit them up sometime this week and see what I can work out. Thanks again everyone!

That's what I was going to say.
The advantage is you don't need tools to refill.

I ended up just ordering a new one from FastTech. Unfortunately the 3.1 I got has that stinkin fill port that I cannot get to work for the life of me (stuck top filling which I can't seem to do without dripping juice on my hands). FiL doesn't have a tap set for small metric so I just left it in my drawer for spare parts. Reading though this thread again got me to think about the teflon tape (I had to google it) and low and behold its what I know as plumbing tape. I used my exacto knife to cut a piece to the length of the threads and it tightened right up!

less than an inch of tape could have saved me 20 bucks, but now I have two so I can rotate flavors more easily. BIG thanks to logun with the very first post for the cheapest solution!

I have 3 of the Kayfun Lite by Ehpro and even though I was warned not to topfill I decided to try it. So far I have had no leaks and it only flooded a little once but a few vapes and it was fine. So much easier cause I can't never get that little screw into the hole and Im scared to death Im going to lose it.

Seeing as you've already ordered it's replacement, if it were me, I'd put some epoxy on the screw and glue it in place, then top fill it until the new one arrives.

Replacement is already here and in use. I've become better at top filling and managed to fill 3 times without loosing a drop! I will say the channel machining is much much better on my new one. I don't get any sort of dry hits at all, it even works 100% perfect right until completely empty. My old one, I suspect, doesn't flow well on one of the channels. I usually only see bubble rising on one of the sides. I would also start to get dry hits from time to time and have to do a primer puff or two. And when there was only a ml or so of juice left it became useless. I do enjoy the ease of filling through the screw port though, but the better performance more than makes up for a slightly more annoying filling method.
