kayfun in dripper mode

Somebody just told me:

The kayfun can be used in drip mode like that

Is that right?

Can you put together the kayfun without the tank and use it in drip mode?

Or is it that you 'can' but it looks wrong/funny?

I want to know which rba's you can assemble to be either rta or rda;
Like the flash-e-vapor is supposed to be able to do that though I have never handled one or seen it in the two modes in pics.

Sure... you can do a KF type in a half-arsed, RDA mode. Just forget the chimney base, drape the wick tails onto the juice deck... and don't fill it too close to the positive deck air tube/screw hole.

Looks a bit less weird with a nano kit. Mod Factory makes a RDA w/AFC conversion kit as well.

it makes a difference whether you can just buy 1 item and have a choice of how you can fit it together;

if you have to get a conversion kit then the answer to the question I'm asking boils down to "no".

actually, forget it; the russian has the same problem as the kayfun; theres the russian and then there's the russian91.

(the problem being: you get the 'kayfun' but it's the xxx kayfun and not the yyy kayfun lite plus clone by zzz)

Did you happen to know if the Russian, and/or the Russian91 can also be assembled as a dripper?

Maybe all kayfun styled rba's can be assembled as drippers; that's the question at the back of my mind;
my rolleyes thought is it will turn out that some can't and some can. That's probably the answer otherwise everybody would know.

I seem to recall that I once tossed together an authentic R91% as a dripper... but, I believe I did it with a one piece PMMA tank (so I could watch the coils glow - what fun!), rather than the original tank parts.
I'd try it again just to see what it takes... but the only R91% I have on hand, I just filled. I'll e-mail the folks I have R91%s loaned out to... and see if they can test them.

I don't have any clone R91%s... so can't help with that one.

The Kayfun mini and clones can definitely be assembled in dripper mode (I think it works great, need to watch out for the airflow hole though). I will absolutely be trying it with the Ivogo baby (17mm mini clone) and no-name 3.1 ES clone once they show up.

All I did with my hcrappy 3.1 clone was get a nano kit and chucked the bottom half of the chimney, works great.

Sure, the Russian 91% can be configured in dripper mode. I've tried it. Nothing special though.
