I just recently got my hcigar kayfun 3.1 clone, easiest rba i have ever purchased. My main goal with this is to continue to do rbas so i can stop using cartomizer tanks. Everyone says they flavor is so great on these things, I am finding that is not accurrate with mine. I get massive flavor and clouds with my carto tanks and i can actually taste the sucralose (ez-sweets) i put into my juice. I can taste the flavor on my kayfun but no sweetner, the sweetner i find is what tends to bring my flavors to life. Anyone else have an issue with kayfuns muting sweetner?

I should point out i build around 2.0 ohm coils and i use cotton, everything is completely saturated and the airflow is tightened up about 50%......I really want to like this thing, im trying to learn this stuff because of the possible new regulations and taxes coming to my state. they are trying to ban online sales and tax us 95%! Fricking lunatics i tell you, so greedy! I'm not going to get into that though, i dont feel like getting my blood pressure up on such a beautiful morning lol.

Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Kind of hard to tell without more information such as the following. Juice ratio PG/VG, coil size (size of mold used such as 1/8", 5/64, 3/32 etc), type coil macro or open type, gauge of wire etc. Also the amount of cotton can also effect it a bit. I'm personally using 3/32 micro coils with 28 ga Kanthal at about 1.5 to 1.8 ohms running it about 8 to 10 watts depending on the juice I'm using. I getting very good taste, vapor and throat hits though I could live without some of the throat hit. I also use either 6mg or 0 mg juice.

i use 70 pg 30vg ratio, i built a 2.0 ohm micro coil on a 2mm mandrel i wrapped it about 9 times. 30 guage wire and just enough cotton to pull through the coil, im going to try even less and see if that makes a difference, the cotton was slightly snug before. I run a provari so i dont get to set my watts but on a 2 ohm i run between 3.5 to 4 volts

Your coil may not be producing enough heat to bring out the best in your e-liquid. Assuming your build is good, you can try increasing your wattage (and heat) by either (a) increasing your voltage or (b) reducing the resistance of your coil. I find that vapor/flavor/TH really improve as I get to between 10-16 watts in my kayfuns.

I should also mention that your resistance measurement must be accurate. Use an ohmmeter or DMM to confirm resistance, do not guess.

Based on the information you supplied, a 2 ohm resistance will yield the following wattage at the indicated voltage:
3.5 volts = 6.125 watts
3.6 volts = 6.48 watts
3.7 volts = 6.845 watts
3.8 volts = 7.22 watts
3.9 volts = 7.605 watts
4.0 volts = 8.0 watts

i always tests the ohms, that's not something i'd guess on lol, I've been vaping over 3 years i got that part down. I use provaris which have an ohm meter built in. I really dont like to go too low on my ohms though, i like them to be around 2 and they pretty much all have been. I just cant seem to figure out why the flavor lacks so much compared to my carto tank. Like i said i get a good amount of vapor and the nicotine hit is kinda crazy lol, but still i can't taste the sweetner in my juices and i hate juices that dont have it. This sucks i was so excited because of all the savings and im going to have to do this eventually anyway with the looming possible regulations in my state, but it just a boring vape, it gets me my nicotine but none of the other pleasurable taste that typically accompanies it like i get with my slotted boges and a carto tank.

the first couple builds I tried were garbage I was using 3mm silica and 30g wire, but now after trying a couple different things including cotton and micro coils Ive found that two strands of 2mm silica and 4 wraps of 32g wire, I mount it to the side with the strands one on top the other so that when I push it to the center there side by side, i trim the wicks so there is just enough that i can loosely fill one side of the chamber with the ends of one strand and one in the other. that said my all day vape for the past few months taste like a different juice and never a dry hit and thats 100% VG

I finally got somewhat of a decent taste of the sweetener in my juice, hope it stays this way. I rebuilt my coil with 6 wraps about 2mm round, which came out to about 1.5 ohms, and I boiled the cotton prior to use this time, and added some extra sweetener I also used my own diy liquid this time to see if the juice was the problem. It did the trick this time, not such a boring vape right now. Might have to lower my nic though, my arm is starting to twitch haha. Seriously though this thing really is good at delivering nicotine.

My Kayfun intensified the sweetener in my juice. A LOT. I have the same banana flavored juice (homemade) in a mini-Protank II and my Kayfun. Through the PT it's good. Through the Kayfun it's like sucking sugarcane through a straw. Sickeningly sweet. No out-of-the-ordinary build, just a 6 wrap 28 gauge coil at 1.2 ohms, cotton wick.

Vape's gonna give me cavities!
