Just dealing with the crap this kayfun lite plus is pulling on me (scratching my mod and 510 connector, dry hits etc.) but I can't chain vape on mine. I'm using it with a cana mod at 14 watts with a 1.6 ohm build and chain vaping or long drags=a sick burning taste. What's going on and how can I fix this? I've tried using micro coils tightly pinched, unpinched microcoils, wicks that are loose but not too loose and they fit on the sides...so what is going on?!?! I need help guys!!! Seriously I'm stumped:confused:

Sounds like wicking issues.
I was following advice I see around a lot about the wicks not being to long and keeping it away from the juice channels. It seemed logical and I was very careful about wick amount and placement. This created random dry hits. Sometimes even after the tank sat all night the wick was dry. Since then I started leaving the tails of the cotton a little longer and pushing more cotton into the sides. It would be more like Busardos videos on youtube.

I don't use the screw to fill anymore because of the scratching. Just top fill. It can be a bit messy if you don't get it just right but still easier then the fill screw.

28g around 2.5mm and around 9 wraps is perfect for me. Just north of 1.5 ohm

I agree with Jockamo on this -- the right amount of wicking just leading up to the holes but not blocking into them. It may be some other aspect, but it definitely sounds like a wicking issue. You might want to consider rayon, or japanese cotton. This link may also be of help (was for me!), a list of common issues with kayfuns and potential solutions:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/519240-kayfun-lite-list-problems-solutions.html

I know it's hella frustrating, but hang in there on it. Wicking can be just one of those things, but if you keep at it methodically something usually clicks. Sadly, the minute you feel you have it mastered, it'll then stop working right even though you're sure you didn't change anything you're doing. Oh wait, I was trying to be encouraging.

1. Every kayfun unit is a bit different. Some have very shallow juice channels. If so, you have to figure out how to get more juice moving through the wicking.

2. Don't pack the wicking in there. Lightly tuck it. Make sure you juice up the wick after you tuck it. Also, if you start to get burnt hits, use primer puffs (put your finger over the airholes and draw w/out firing in order to draw the juice in).

3. Consider a cheapie RDA clone like a Veritas or even something like the big dripper. Might suit your needs better than an RBA. To be honest, you sound like the perfect candidate for a bottom feeder set up like the REO.

I have two Kayfun Lites and a Kayfun nano. Don't know what your problem might be unless the juice you're using is too thick. All the juices I use are 50/50. If you check out Madvapes website and search for a Kayfun nano, there is a video on that page that shows how to build on the deck. It goes over the coils and the wicking. That's the method I use with the exception that I use japanese cotton instead of Walgreen's organic cotton balls. Remember, fluff, dont' stuff.

Do like jockamo said and make the wick long and lay it the length of the deck. The best length for this is to put your wick through the coil then grab a side and take it down the edge of the device and cut it there (it should be going down at an angle, don't pull it straight out and eye it up). Do that to both sides then juice up the wick and lay each side on the deck. It should form a Z pattern when you're done. Put the collar back on around the coil (with the top chimney off) and use a little screwdriver to push the wick away from the juice channels. Make sure you see some deck there before you put it back together.

I use a larger diameter coil on my lite plus...Closed 9/64ths to be exact for high VG,8 wraps of 26 ga kanthal for 1.2 ohms...J cotton cut to fit tightly but NOT TOO tight in the coil(causes dry hits)... Tuck the wicks UP, put the chamber ring on, fluff fluff fluff then tuck the ends too the deck. The ends should fill the deck opening and touch down on the deck.If at any point the cotton is being stuffed into the deck opening your using too much. However, I think that on the Kayfun that more is better with cotton.

I can chain vape it dry in an hour if the bourbon is flowing.

Oh, and if amyone would like to recover some of the cost of their idle Kayfuns PM me.....I'll take them off your hands and give them a warm. loving home where they will be appreciated.

Just got a new mod so no reo for me plus I prefer regulated. Not ready for that next tier level aha

The billow and the lemo both have glass. The orchid is poly but you can use a Kayfun tank with the ss section.

I want a lemo but the glass is thin and might break. Is there a ss for the lemo?

I use walgreens organic cotton 50/50 juice fluff the heck out of it but will check that video

Done everything except the z pattern. Its a pain to mpty and refill and lose so muvh juice but i will shift my coils and do the z attack. But how far from the juice channels should my thing be? Pics?

If anyone can post pics of their build that can chain vape please post them for ref for me. Thanks.

I order to not waste too much juice when you mess with the build.. I remove the drip tip, turn the kayfun upside down and place on top of the bottle my juice came out of. When you unscrew the bottom the juice will run back into the bottle. Give it a minute and your only wasting drops, not ml's.

Will try that next time but wouldnt the o ring like stop it from leaking through the top?

The chain-vaping of a Kayfun is within your grasp, don't give up just yet!! It took some time for all of us to get there but I am hesitant to suggest a particular build since I don't know how you like to vape.

I too tried everything and was disappointed wicking, coils, juices,..no luck until I found my sweet spot.
Now, no matter what I wick with or style of coil I build, it always turns out great.

This guidance from other ecf members put me on the right track:

It is called all things being equal.

You make a decent working coil.
You do a decent wick.
Your Air flow is acceptable for the device and coil
You have enough regulated power to run the coil efficiently.

When you remove the bottom the build deck and chimney come with it. Juice will juice flow out through the top O ring and out the part where you drip tip goes. I leave the tank and top part on the bottle to drip while I work on the coil.

Did the madvapes build works good and no dry hits but now when i get home i take off the kayfun and theres a little puddle on my mod. Why is it leaking now? I screwed in the airhole screw all the way in because after awhile in the pocket that screw gets loose and when it does it hits my mod and causes RIDICULOUS damage to it. Like abnormal scratches. This kayfun is just never a pleaser t.t

When you remove the bottom the build deck and chimney come with it. Juice will juice flow out through the top O ring and out the part where you drip tip goes. I leave the tank and top part on the bottle to drip while I work on the coil.

Makes sense

Anyone got any clue why or where its leaking from the bottom??
