Hi everyone, I am re-posting here from another thread. It turned out to be the wrong forum. Hopefully I will receive some expert advice here:

I have never tried the kayfun Lite but seen some positive remarks on it. I am considering a new version that has an adjustable air hole. The price seems reasonable- only $39 offered at Madvapes. As a newbie I have never made my own coil and don't even have the necessary gear such as a meter, appropriate mod etc. etc.. I use an ego-c twist that goes to 4.8 Volts max. My preferred coil is 2 ohm. If I were to go for it, what else should I buy? What mod, gauge wire, silica, etc. etc.... Thanks in advance.

Here is the link to Madvapes Search results for: 'kayfun'

It's going to be top heavy on a Ego so I would recommend a beefier mod, preferably one that reads ohms or you will need to purchase an ohm meter. It can be used with an Ego but you'll want to keep the ohms up, 1.5 or over should be fine for it.

I'd recommend 30ga Kanthal A1 for use on the Ego and other VV mods, that or 32ga. 32 ga will get you a little higher ohms with the same number of wraps but it's a little thinner, 30 is easier to work with imo and you should easily be able to get the ohms high enough with it.

Then it comes down to what you want to use for wick. Many use cotton and it's cheap and easy to get, CVS, Walgreens, etc. Just be sure to get organic cotton balls and a bag will probably last a lifetime.

Nomoreash has pretty well covered all you need to know in my opinion. Example, one of my mods is a Sigelei zmax 3. I have two KFL+ clones (EHPro and Black Edition from Custom Mod.) My spot on coil is Kanthal 32g., 8 wraps on 1.5mm mandrel using cotton wick, which comes out at 1.5ohms. Hope this gives you an idea.

Thanks guys; very useful info. How long do you think it will take for a newbee like me to learn how to wrap coils and make the system work?

hey buddy great choice if thinking of going the way of the kayfun, I know there are tons of videos out there and watching more then one is usually the best because most take little bits from each to get a big picture. i have done a few on the kayfun but this is the one that shows some of the basics. kayfun lite basics - YouTube good luck

Thanks vapdivrr, I appreciate the guidance. My only problem is that I now have to get one of those thick cylindrical mods that look just like a mini ballistic missile or a space-age rocket :) But then again if I want a good vape, I should catch up with the 21st century. Thanks again.
