This has pretty much completely solved the low vapor production problems I have been experiencing. I typically would keep the airflow screw pretty loose, but it wasn't until I started unscrewing it that I realized how long the screw actually was. I previously thought I had always kept that screw pretty loose, guess not. Removed the screw completely and am now getting superb vapor production.

Xlnt BTY...and if you haven't tried the wick over coil build method give it a shot, they'll be more vapor in your future for sure.

And I think I'm done with the wicking method where you take each end strand of cotton and pull them upwards into the center of the cone. I can only see this method as blocking airflow and not allowing for sufficient juice to reach the wick through the channels.
With the airhole screw removed, by not filling my tank to the very top, by covering the airhole as I fill and turning the kayfun upside down as I screw on the top cap, I am getting fantastic results.
And I have to say my preferred method of wicking, and the one that makes the most logical sense to me, is to tuck each end of the cotton wick below the posts so that they sit right beside the juice channels, and then screw on the center cone. With this method when you take a drag liquid travels through the channels, very quickly comes into contact with the cotton wick, and saturates it fully and distributes the liquid across the entire cotton wick.

Only thing left that I am going to attempt is what truman suggested about the wick over coil build. I'll save that one for tomorrow.

I might be having a similar problem.. when I first got my kayfun and built it.. upon firing I would get that nice snap crackle pop I could feel even when taking a drag.. now after rebuilding when I fire i get a very faint hiss from the vaporization.. nothing like the intense snapping and popping when I first got it.. I'm vaping 1.4 ohm micro and cotton 7-8 wrap 30 gauge and have the cotton a little snug in the coil but not too snug where I can't slide it through the coil with little to no resistance.. the flavor is on point.. wicking is good.. but vape production?

Im getting as much even more out of my rebuilt protank 2 heads.. I'm taking mouth to lung hits since the draw even with the afc screw out is only a little airier than my protank which is still too tight for a satisfying lung hit which I'm fine with.. but shouldn't I still be getting more clouds vs the protank 2 when mouth to lung hitting on both? Im maxing out the amps on my svd (5 amps?).. and still getting poor vapor amounts and a light hissing sound not much crackle... maybe my cotton wick is too dense and not light enough? I have to twist it pretty tight to get it to slide freely through my coil.

Im using a kfl+

After spending a good amount of time today messing with my kayfun I've eliminated the problems I've been having with low vapor production. First thing I did was unscrew the airflow control completely, take it out. Press each end of the cotton wick down below the post base so that it is very slightly positioned to the side of the liquid channels. Then screw the center cone on. I believe this method is superior because as you take a drag and liquid flows through the channels, it is then quickly absorbed by the ends of the cotton wick and saturates it.
I think this method is superior to folding the ends of your cotton wick upward so that they reach the top of the center cone. I could only see this as producing air flow problems and wicking issues...problems keeping it saturated.

Lastly I have been filling from the top (not fully filling the tank, filling approximately halfway), while keeping the airhole covered, and then turning the kayfun upside down as I screw the top piece back on. Now I am getting clouds of vapor, excellent throat hit, fantastic flavor, and best of all consistency with my vape.

Another question.. should the diameter of my coils matter? I think I'm closer to an nano coil then a micro.. when I dry burn the coil the sucker lights up bright as hell.. I dont know what's going on.

Im using either an 18 gauge or 20 gauge needle to wrap.. I forget which one it was :/

I am having a lot of success with wrapping microcoils on 1/16th drill bits. The diameter of your coils matters in several different ways.

I'm really happy with my Russian build I have which is a porous ceramic cylinder wrapped in 26Ga with minimal hemp fiber feeds. It's the best flavor I have ever got from it and close to my sub ohm dripper. I give away broken pieces of my early genny wicks locally because I want everyone to experience how good the flavor is from it. I have 0 desire to rebuild it any other way. I need a new atty because I have 5 different ones locked down with max vapor I can get while retaining the best flavor and I'm a rebuild nut.
