Got my kayfun v4 in today setup a coil using Kanthar 28g a1 premium wire. Put it on my vicious ant phenom which is new as well. Used a newly charged Sony 18650 battery. Connected the tank to my phenom to test my coil. As soon as I turned it on the button got hot but my coil never heated up. Unscrewed the kayfun and found that now my liquid control valve is stuck. Got it apart and my aire control screw was melted into the uc counter screw. Got it apart then put back together. checked my coil and nothing was loose or touching anything else. Now nothing happens and the only thing that I know work is the batteries per what my charger is telling me. Can anyone help with this issue?

Stop trying for right now you might vent your battery. Do you have an ohm reader? It would check for shorts as well. Is your spring in between the juice control and the firing pin? You said 28 g but no inner diameter of your coil or how many wraps you did. Need more info.

Good advice. The stock spring and center post insulator on the K4 are NOT suited to sub-ohm vaping!

You have a short, your button should never get hot. Do not go any further without an ohm meter.

Testing a coil with a resistance meter or an advanced regulated device that provides for that function before using it with a mechanical mod is essential for your safety and will prevent you from inadvertently damaging/destroying your gear.

First, your coil is to small for good performance on a k4. With 28g, your coil should be 2 to 3mm ID. I have 3 k4s, on mechs I wrap a 2.5mm, vw I wrap a 3.0mm.

You mentioned your air screw melted into the delrin insulator. You have the nut with insulator in backwards. The delrin is on bottom, not top where the air screw touches it.

This normally doesn't cause a short though. Disassemble your k4 completely, clean & inspect. You may have a metal shard from manufacturing floating around in there causing a short .... Assuming your coil is built & installed correctly.
