Just recently purchased a Orchid V4 and loving it so far.
Though the Orchid uses two coils.
Considering adding a kayfun to my modest collection.
My understanding that the kayfun uses a single coil.
That being said, does it still vape as good as a Orchid V4?
Im sure theirs members here who can give first hand info on these two?
May like to share pictures?
And builds, methinks 28g is best.
Though I may try some 24g.
Running 28g ten wraps, .9 ohms.
21watts seem to be my sweet spot.
Just wanted to pick your mind on these. :)

It can be done, I run mine about 1 ohm on a mech. But the Kayfun seems best at 1.5 -2.0 range. While it still puts out vaper it was never designed as a power Atty. Just something to keep in mind. I know they are better at it then they used to be. But still

And I don't know why but for many people hitting the sweet spot is tough and they report muted flavors.

I love mine, been using them for work and travel for years, pretty much used every version

And I can't compare, never cared for dual coil tanks.

You may also dig the squape r

I used my Kayfun for about 6 months straight before I got my Orchids. I prefer the orchid now for the airflow and flavor.

If your just talking about the old fashion Kayfun, it just has one airhole, so it is better for the mouth-to-lung people (though I mouth-to-lung my orchids too). It does have adjustable airflow, but I always left mine wide open.

Pros: easy to build, vapes well, gets the job done.

To me, it seems like more of a downgrade from the Orchid. However, a lot of people love them and still use them. Mine is over a year old and still works like new.

Nic`d Up in Oklahoma!
These are really two different animals for two different kinds of vapers.

My Wife loves here KFL, it runs a 1.3 dual coil @ 12.5 watts. She`s a lung hitter and she loves its tight draw/flow, she cant handle my Orchid, which runs at .6 and 31-33 watts. I`m a MTL hitter and cant stand the tightness of her KFL now. She`s happy to get her Nic with a decent amount of flavour. I have to have lotsa volume and density, lots of flavour as its in my mouth more . "Chewyness" we used to call it in the cigar world. She wants hers to mimic a cigarette, I want mine to mimic a cigar.

Really depends on what kind of vaper you are. I wont even consider a KFL a good vape now, but my wife would argue with that.

Best regards.

Well, many find after they are all cleared up from smoking, they don't need to "tame the beast" so to speak and end up at a lower level just for maintenance to avoid urges, never in my time vaping did I think I would end up around 6mg. But it works fine.

Now, the Kayfun, with so many tanks around it really will come down to preference, many forget the overall Kayfun design is from a time when there was no 20 watt mods. So the efficiency was designed around low power, back when it came into the mainstream and started gaining popularity I think the best thing out of China at that time was the protank. And the original kf is much older then that even.

I'm waiting on a kf4 now but I see reviews showing better airflow and even optional subohm kits now. its not everyone's cup o tea and its def not a lung inhaling cloud chaser. You can see busardo loves his around 1.6 ohms, all the stuff he plays with and still his go to vape.

I'm old school I run doubled up 2 mm silica with 5 wraps of 28g for just under 1 ohm on my mech. Thinking about it, when I got my first kf there were no micro coils yet and no one tried cotton for a wick lol wild how far we came in just a few years

I'm old lol

Thanks for your reply, Im a ole'school too.
Though Im new to vaping, just bearly four months.
After 35yrs of nasty old ciggs.
Vaping become a hobby, always trying out new stuff lol.
Im bidding on a Kayfun now, got bout another hour before I become a proud owner lol.
Knowing me will have a collection going before long.
Here the info on the one Im bidding on.
KAYFUN LITE PLUS V2 CLONE

The EHPro Kayfun Lite+ (Plus) V2 is the latest version in the Kayfun series of rebuild-able atomizers. Made from high quality 304 stainless steel, medical grade silicon seal, and bundles of spare parts, it is a dream come true for re-builders. The upgraded Kayfun Lite+ has adjustable airflow control on the base which is recessed and 3 different tank options. One stainless steel and two PMMA tanks of different sizes. The steel tank allows for the use of "tank cracker" liquids and the other two give you visibility. It has a standard 510 connection and a liquid capacity over 4.5ml. This highly sought out atomizer retains the outstanding vapor production, and flavorful taste whilst reducing in size. This specific version comes with no logos whatsoever for a clean look.

Looking at a few others too.

I used a Kayfun Lite clone for a long time and did end up dropping my nic to 3mg.

I even quit vaping alltogether for about 4 months last year.

I got stressed and started back up, but atleast I didn't start smoking again instead.

I use an expromizer on my ProVari now and gave my Kayfuns to a co-worker who still enjoys them.

The Expromizer is, for me at least, a much nicer choice, looser draw, easier fill, same diameter as my ProVari so it looks better.

I also enjoyed a Lemo for a while, but filling it was a pain, the air flow adjustment was wonky, and it would randomly flood.

I'm hoping the Lemo 2 with solve the filling and airflow isues, if so I might buy one.

I'm using DIY juice at 2mg now, I tried 0, but just need a bit of a bite.

I usually mix at 70PG/30VG, but that's just my preference. Rayon wicks, 1.4 ohm coil at 4.4volts and nary a dry hit.

As far as coming into its own, the kf light was the one that exploded in popularity the + added airflow control.
Before the light the kf was a monster it was huge and had special fill valves and was just more then the regular vapor was willing to deal with.

The Kayfun also has expansion parts like extended chimney and extra tank sections. You can make it 30 ml if you want lol
There are several modders who make a world of cool stuff for it now. Custom tanks, custom caps, engraved chimneys on and on.

There may be tanks that people like better but they are all based on that Kayfun deck and chimney concept, it really did set a new standard and ushered in a new design

Im also about 35 years 2 PAD been at this since end of 2010 decided to quit lurking in '12. My first year was the same- wanna try everything lol

You have the advantage of starting out now with stuff that actually works lol the old days were a nightmare and only die hards kept at it. The amount of equipment available today is staggering, the biggest advancement around when I started Was replacable heads in ce4 clearomizers, and don't get me started on the 3 piece cigalike system I first started with.

I remember when we had 1 rebuildable not one of each type 1 total , the bulli dripper and then the pheonix and been hooked on rebuilding ever since.

Many many designs and concepts we know today started as an idea on this very forum, like for instance carto tanks used to be syringe tubes with grommets in them

Flash from the past hehe....

Vaping is the future, companies catering to people like us whom once smoked ciggs.
None smokers probably appreciate not having to smell or breath 2nd smoke.
That being said, glad their improving older models and constantly coming out with new stuff for us to use.(play with) :)
I won last nite, Kayfun on it way.

Looking for a juice that taiste like honey.
Wish to mix it with some 236ml bottle I'd gotten from mtbakers.
