So, I've followed the guides on youtube and such. I am pretty sure I am doing this correctly, but I am still getting an "E1" error on my Provari. The only thing I can think of is that I am placing the little rubber grommets in the wrong place - seeing as it all fell apart when I first received it. Check this out and see what you think. Thanks!

EDIT: After checking "Ao" on my Provari it is reading .8, it will actually make the coils glow too. However I am still getting an E4/E1 error.

What gauge wire is it? You might try doing 4-5 wraps, from your picture it looks like you might have, maybe, 2 good wraps. Also try heating the mesh some more. I usually heat my mesh with my torch for a solid 2-3 minutes straight without quinching mainly focusing on the part where my coil will be wrapping around.

I know nothing about the provari, but I do not go below 1.8 ohms personally.

.8 seems real  low

provapes FAQ page "Is there a preferred atomizer to use with the ProVari?"(Q near the middle) mentions low resistance issues & higher resistance being recommended.
Frequently Asked Questions

May need to try another few wraps on top of
vsummer1
Or your ohms are too low, wrap one more time on that coil.

They were all glowing. Like I said, if I go to Ao on my provari all the coil will glow (no hot spots or anything.) However, I finally reached 2.2 Ohms with 6 wraps, but as soon as it started working I got an E2. No go, Ohms down to 1.8. Still won't fire at 3.3v. I'm getting E4 now, and I've never had this problem with my provari before. I'm getting so frustrated with this! And I am so tired of the bull.... cartos! I just want something that works..

I'm thinking about just saying .... it and buying an iHybrid.

These things are good for "cutting your teeth" with and deciding if you like genesis atty's as I own the knock off "DUD" and a real full size DID(original maker). There are a few things that could be wrong with it and mainly:
1) you need to make sure that it is correctly assembled(as in just the atty itself)
2) the wick is the basis for everything past here and where most issues arise so,make sure the wick is oxidized completely and any stray fibers are trimmed off
3) there are different methods concerning the oxidation process such as "quenching"(dunking in water between heating mesh until glowing) vs. just heating the mesh until it glows(this is the method I use no quenching) and I do it a few times just to make sure but,not until the mesh is burnt and falls apart.
4) the coiling is rather easy but,you want it snug just not cutting into the layer of oxidation on the mesh.Try to keep tension on the wire as you wrap the coils using a spare finger and is sometimes easier spinning the whole atomiser instead trying to wrap the wire.
5)if you are using A1 Kanthal 32 gauge and wrap 5/4(5 coils on one side and has 4 on the other) ohms will end up somewhere around 1.8-2.2+-
6)there is also another method concerning the oxidation process called "The Petar K method" and some find it easier and can be found on youtube easily
It does get easier and once you get the process down right it is a great atomiser to use.

Thank you for all your information. I attribute part of this to the crappy made Chinese knockoff, and the other half to my own ignorance, lol.

Sadly, I'm all out of Kanthal wire and mesh now, I was only sent two small pieces. Where would be a good place to order some more?

I used ebay and ordered from 2 different resellers. The bigger name brand place for mesh would be "The mesh company" I think it is called and you can order wire directly from Kanthal or just buy from ebay/amazon.You can use Nichrome but,I wouldn't recommend it but,if you are in a pinch it might get you through until you get more in.Both on ebay were pretty cheap,I think I paid $9-$10 for 70ft of Kanthal and you can try different versions of mesh(having more stands)for cheap in 6in squares or more.I normally use 400 or 325 but,now there is 500 mesh but, they all work just depends on what you like. For me the 400 wicks everything just fine.

Also, just to make sure "Igetch69" 's videos on preparing mesh and building genesis atomizer setups was what I used when I first started using them and is very factual and "step by step" through the whole process.

I had a very experience with my first DUD setup. I think your problem is the wick ( I got same errors btw). Torch it again. I had to oxidize the wick three times before the coil stopped shorting on it. Also check that top coil. The DUD has really terrible locking nuts on the center post and its really difficult to get them to hold the wire just right.I had a hard time getting rid of hotspots and shorts there.
