Hi,

I've been reading some threads on here for a few weeks and have finally made the switch from cigarettes to an e-cig. I've bought a provari mini and an iClear 30 dual coil clearomizer. I also bought 2 18350 batteries and charged them both in my new xtar wp2 at 0.5A it it said they were good to go. I felt all kitted up and ready to go! Just turned my provari on for the first time and straight away I have an E1 error. I can see in the manual that says I either need to replace the atomiser or lower the voltage settings. Firstly why would this be happening on the first turn on? Surely as it's a brand new atomiser it can't be that? And I think I was trying to lower the voltage settings by going to Power Down but that didn't help either. A couple of times I've had an E4 error pop up too (Input Voltage to DC/DC converter error) - and it seems to be changing between an E1 error and an E4 error. What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Thanks
Jack

The iClear 30 can be a bit fiddly. I live them when they work well, but there's a lot of room for user error with them that I find. A slightly twisted o ring, screwing the coil head on too tight, screwing it too loosely, filling it too much, filling it not enough, a long time to wait for the coils to prime.... I love mine, don't get me wrong, but I'm going to guess and say your issue is the iClear 30, not the Provari. Do you have anything else to try at all?

A former Provari owner.
Code E1 is easy enuff- either voltage too high or atty short BUT E4 is something completely different.
E1 - Element Short - Lower the Voltage or replace the atomizer
E2 - Current Limit Exceeded - Lower the Voltage
E3 - Temperature Limit Exceeded - Let the device cool off
E4 - Input Voltage to DC/DC converter error - Contact ProVape
E5 - Converter has a problem - Contact ProVape if you get this error
E6 - Microprocessor has a problem - Contact ProVape if you get this error
E7 - Voltage output when there should be none - note this can be caused by a converter fault OR by an open atomizer. Only contact ProVape if you know the atomizer is good and the problem persists.
E8 - Converter has detected a fault - Contact ProVape if you get this error

Yes since writing we can say it's definitely the iClear 30 because without it the provari comes on with no error codes. I've loosened it a bit and now it seems to have come on ok and I've had my first vape! Hooray! I'm so new to all this - I'm a bit confused by all the electronic elements of it (not good when discussing an electronic product!) so wasn't sure if I'd done something wrong. Would you advise me getting another atomiser?

I know of many that successfully use the iClear 30 with the Provari. After 5 posts wait 1 hour for the ECF servers to reset and you can post in the ProVari TONS of really great info.
Best of Luck.

Edit: have used the iClear 16 and 30 on my MVP 2 without issue or adjustment.

I don't own a Provari, so I don't know the ins and outs regarding airflow on them. I can recommend other clearos to try though. A lot of people swear by the Protank II's. We use the Mini Protank II a lot here, but I don't think Provari has ego threading for those. The full sized Protank II should be fine though. I love the taste of my iClear 30b, but there is some fiddling to be done with those. Best results are when you make sure to line up the air hole of the coil to the airflow hole drilled into the threading of the base. However, if lining them up means you screw the coil in either too tight or too loose you'll wind up with either leaks, or a coil that won't fire. At least, that's how mine works. I've heard really good things about Aspire bottom dual coil, glass clearos as well.

The two most common threading you'll find are ego threading and 510 threading. Your Provari uses 510 threading where the clearo is the "male" threaded part and the Provari has the "female" threading. Ego is the opposite way, where the battery is the male and the clearo is the female. Most ego batteries have both threadings though. Ego on the outside and 510 on the inside. Clearos usually come with only one type of threading each though. Either 510 or ego. You can use ego threaded clearos by getting a 510 to ego adapter for your Provari.

Also Vapoor eyes er - thank you so much for the UK Vendors list! It is so hard to find on google, everything is just spam and marketing sites.
You're welcome. That's Chrissie's website but she can also be found here:

Can I ask what ego threading is?
The Provari accepts both eGo and 510 threaded accessories- the most popular threading.

The ProVari only has 510 threading. You'll need an ego adapter for ego threads.
