I have had my juice sitting on the kitchen counter for 5 mos now and haven't had any problems. Yesterday I decided to take my 30ml bottles and tansfer some into 7.5ml bottles and put the large ones in the fridge not because of heat though. I was decluttering and when you have 47 bottles of 7.5 ml and 30 of 3mls it can fill the counter quick so all the things that have not got used lately went into the butter drawer. Unless you keep the house at 90 degrees I wouldn't worry about it unless you have really large bottles that you don't use often. I am in Fl and keep my ac/heat at 75 all yr round and all the juices are fine.

Cool dark place is really for storage, I've carried e-juice around and left it in my under air-conditioned Texas appartment for weeks at a time, the only noticable effect, as far as I could tell, was the nicotine yellows with exposure to air/sunlight, it may lose some concentration also, but I couldn't tell.... A lot of people swear by opening their new eliquids up and leaving them overnight in the fridge to 'steep'. For long term storage (a couple of months) most people recommend a cool dark place, some recommend the fridge, some recommend against it. For everyday juice, it shouldn't really matter....

When I got my first order of e-juice, the bottle just said "keep in a dark cool place". I keep it in the refrigerator, but I'm wondering now if that's necessary. Anyone have advice?
I've never stored my juice at anything other than room temperature and on occasion in a hot car for days. In either case my juice has never seemed degraded.

I don't however neccessarily recommend storage in a hot car in the summertime long term. I did it first for convenience and as time went on just to test.

I do keep my juices out of direct sunlight though.

Lol. Always a lot of debate on this... For me, it depends. For the UNOPENED SEALED juice that I store for DIY, I keep it in a container in the fridge. Now, this time of year, I probably don't have to. Since I started in the summer tho..... I started with the fridge.

The other posts in that thread talk about moisture, spoiling etc. That's may be because they OPENED the juice, and stored it in the fridge. Mine are in sealed glass bottles. Moisture shouldn't get to em. Light and Heat are the enemies. Bacteria grow SLOWER in the fridge (which is why we refrigerate things). So I don't understand why that post talks about the fridge spoiling things. Doesn't really make sense to me unless the juice was open/contaminated. Besides, PG is a antibacterial agent.

After I open a bottle to cut it/use it, I store it in a "tool box" type of DIY kit (a dark safe place - non fridge. I use it up soon tho).

I guess it depends on your average temps too. Not sure about nicotine degradation. I thought heat and light were the issues there.

EDIT: P.S. I use PG based nic juice. IDK about the VG based stuff.

I have been storing my e-liquids at room temp, away from direct sun light. No problems yet. I have some juice that is nearly 3 months old and started using it again last week. It actually seems better than when I first got it.

I don't see what the problem is if you want to store it in the fridge. Just let the kids know not to drink it, lol.
Btw, how do you know the fridge light actually goes off when you close the door?

If the fridge is good, would the freezer be better? For really extended periods of storage?

All of my 30ml bottles that I am not currently using get all the air squeezed out of them and the lids screwed back on then I throw them wherever. It seems to work as far as moisture getting in them. I also think that air in the bottle can make the juice taste stale when stored for awhile. My Blueberry tasted a bit stale then I began sqeezing the air out and either my tastes changed again or it keeps them fresher. Either way in my head it seems to make the juice stay fresh.

I think degradation doesn't start taking place for quite awhile. Except in cases of extreme heat etc. I use alot of Dekang liquids and who knows how old they are, they aren't dated, and are mass produced. They could be on a shelf for 6 months before you receive them. If it's made fresh in the U.S. for you then I think storing it about anywhere for the first year isn't going to create an issue.

I would think so too. I don't currently have any juice that I intend to store that long. But I think you are correct.

Once I mix up the PG based DIY nic stuff, I keep it at room temp for a while to steep and mingle with other flavors. I only mix small amounts and use it fairly soon, though.

Good point. I mean with Beer it's pretty much the same thing IMO. UV lighting is ... wait... actually any lighting in excess is bad for anything you want to consume that is a liquid. Air, light, and heat will breakdown all the good stuff in no time. I gotta agree that putting it in the fridge doesn't seem like it would hurt it either. A cool dark place right? I had no idea PG was an antibacterial agent. I'll have to look into that more =)
