I tried my hand at Gourmet Vapors at some overlooked Kentucky flavors - That trademarked Derby Day pie that shall remain nameless, and our legendary Mint Julep. I'll post when I actually get to taste them and let y'all know how they turned out.

Kyanabelle, that sounds really interesting, I would love to try some of the Derby Day pie, that sounds delish! Sorry you won't be able to join us on the 25th but we will post the date and location of the July meet. Probably around the 3rd Saturday. But I will post for sure as soon as we know. Let us know how the taste test went. 
Even if the Derby day pie doesn't taste right, I'm not giving up - I'll DIY until I nail it. I'm on a mission now! LOL!
Vermillion River has some Kentucky inspired juices. I just got some Kentucky Premium Blend, which is good, and some Kentucky Premium Maplewood. Haven't tried the Maplewood yet. All juice is USA made.
I got them today and I think they will be good after a bit of steeping but they didn't taste the way I wanted them to, so I went in and tweaked the recipes today. I changed the name of the "Kentucky Horse Race Pie" because both parents said their first thought was of horse .... ...LOL... I renamed it "Ky 1st Saturday in May Pie." Blasted registered trademarks!
I wasn't able to taste the whiskey in either juice. I bumped up the percentage for my next order. I am going to get some bourbon flavor and try on my own, too.
