So I went to post this on the new members forum... But then i found out that I've reached my max.. Can't post there anymore...

Here's my issue.. I have a Kgo kit and im using stardust clearos on it... I've been using Big Red juice from hoosier and sometimes it seems that it was getting burnt.. it would go from clear and light in color to very dark and taste burnt... I was vaping and decided to switch out batteries to charge the one i was using it (started using that one last night) and i swapped my stardust from the one battery to the fresh one.. vaped and instant burnt... was FINE on the other battery... so could my burning juice be a battery issue?

Must be the problem... Switched back to the first battery once it was charged and after a bit of vaping the burnt flavor is slowly going away... but will only go away so much... Since the juice itself is burnt... And the battery is the only thing different.... Ive had my PV for over a month so i dont think i can exchange it at this point

Hi Nuvene,

I have a KGO and use stardusts so I have experience with them. Just not that particular juice. For me, when you say burnt taste, that immediately makes me think the juice isn't wicking to the coil fast enough. However it is odd to me the juice is changing color that quickly.

The stardusts are a bit higher on the resistance scale so I don't see how the battery could be doing this unless it is a faulty one and doing weird things. If I had this problem, I would probably pour the juice back in the bottle, rinse the stardust out well and flick it dry, and dry burn it a few times (place the empty stardust on the battery holding the button down in 5 second intervals 3-4 times) until I saw the coils burning red.

Place the juice in again up to the wicks and let it soak up for little bit before vaping. While vaping I always tip mine upside down once in awhile to keep the juice wicking. Now if you do this and still get the burnt taste it could be the battery is pushing more volts than it should be (I don't know if this is even possible for sure) or it could be a bad stardust. Have you been using the stardusts long? Any other juices used in them?

Agree with the info from above. It's definitely not the battery. The issue is with the juice and the stardust. From what you have described then the coil has been gunked up and is one reason why your juice is getting darker. There could be a wicking issue also since it helps to invert it sometimes to get the coil saturated in juice for it to perform properly.

Also, the Kgo starts off at 4.2V which could be too hot for the ohms that your stardust has but, they're usually rated at 2.4 ohms I believe. So, that shouldn't be a problem but, the longer you use an atty for instance. The ohms do drop or increase (depending on the atty) after a bit of time.

I have cleaned and dry burned them several times... Wondered if the problem was with the coil getting gunked... didnt help (well it did in the short term but ended up the same way)... I have 3 of the stardust and have the problem in all 3... could possibly be the juice.. maybe something is in there that is burning... I have some TV Atomic Cinnacide on the way... If I have issues with that juice then I will know it was with the juice... I just know I cleaned all my stardusts (2 on sunday 1 on monday... dry burned them all before filling and using) filled all 3 with different juices... used 2 of them for a few vapes on the one batt... put the big red back on it and was vaping nicely.. changed the batt and the first vape tasted burnt... havent tested my other 2 flavors on the other battery yet... will post once i do and see how that goes...
