It a device you add to the top of your battery that allows you to VW, but it also limits your output to 15 watts and thus makes it safer.

For me it takes away what I like about my mechs. No circuitry to break(although if it breaks you still have a mech to work with unlike with a regulated PV), and no limit on ohms/output.

I have regulated devices for my VW needs but to each their own.

The kick in general takes a mechanical PV and adds a consistancy that you get in a variable volt PV. With a mech, you vape away and as your battery begins to discharge, so does your vape quality and there is a danger of over discharging and shortning the life of the battery. With a kick you can adjust the watts to a point to accomodate your atty but the kick gives you consistant vape right up to @ 3.2 volts when it shuts off. I build my own coils so consistancy is a important factor in the sucess of using kicks, I think using stock irregulator ohm coils does pose problems in why some hate kicks but others love them.
I've been using kicks for months now and really like using them. Some hate them but the kicks that I use I got last May and they are still going strong along with the batteries I got around the same time. I won't use a mech without a kick but thats my opnion and there are many who will disagree with me but...owell. ;)

Yes, you can adjust the wattage with a kick2 from 5-15 watts. It turns a mechanical mod into a regulated PV. I'm not a huge fan of them as I like to push more than 15 watts with my mechanical mods and have a vv/vw mod that can do the same things the kick can. It does make a mechanical mod safer because it has an amperage limit and protects you from over discharging your battery.

I have built and tried a few sub ohm coils but found really no thrill in it. I began to vape to quit smoking so for me its more of a nic addiction than trying to make these huge subohm clouds. I wrap regular 6 wrap, 32 guage coils that are 2.0 ohms protanks, wick with either hemp fiber or unbraided ekowool and can produce a cloud with my kicked mechs that rank up there with some subohm builds. Its each to their own to what and how you vape, so vape on and vape happy.

This pic puts more into perspective of the vape I can produce from my protank builds. :)

I like using one, it is just a small disk you slide into the tube. you have to open the tube to adjust the wattage but usually if you use the same atty all the time it isnt a big deal.

I have a kraken on a nemesis with a kick at about 12 watts.

the power stays consistant and unlike a standard mech i can get to about 3.2volts without the vapor dropping off, without the kick I would be recharging around 3.6v and by then the vapor is pretty week.

If you like to adjust your mod a lot it isnt really for that, it is more once you find the sweet spot your looking for you leave it alone, with minor adjustments if needed.
