Since it's from Evolv, you're setting watts, not volts, just like the Darwin, so you set your preferred output at, say, 8W or so, and it'll automatically adjust voltage based on the resistance of whatever you've attached to it so you get your desired wattage. Obviously that doesn't apply to dual coils as you'll get half the wattage, but still, the principle is the same. The voltage will change automatically based on resistance and desired wattage.
It has been tested and supposedly works as advertised. You just have to scrape the anodizing off where the reference spring comes in contact with the body.

Sorry to hear you weren't able to get in on it Mindfield - all the vendors keep saying they'll be getting more stock in shortly, but nobody is venturing a date so far..
So far anything VV/VW has only managed to keep me amused for 2 weeks at most, so there's always a good chance mine will end up back in the classifieds shortly
