Lots of vapers don't use the Kick anymore. But, I still do quite often. However on some of my mods, due to threading issues, etc., a Kick may not fit well on the positive end of the battery.

Question: Can a Kick be used on the negative end of a battery, top positive end of the Kick toward the negative battery terminal?

It really depends on the design of the circuit in the kick, but most likely no or at least not a good idea.... However... You could install the whole thing upside down. I.e. positive end of the battery to the negative on the kick, but have the kick at the bottom of the mod. Doing this depending on the design of the mod you may lose one slight safety feature. Normally if your battery wrapper is crappy and you short the side of the can to the mod it will cause the device to auto-fire until you remove the battery... With it flipped like this if you were to get a short due to a bad wrapper the good news is nothing would happen as long as the mod isn't fired... But if you hit the fire button you'd be causing a direct short on the battery. So if you run it like this just make sure you only use good batteries with absolutely no wrapper damage, etc. and just be aware that one layer of safety is removed.

The positive end of the battery must be oriented on the bottom of the Kick. That's the biggies. The Kick side contact(s) is/are the negative. The top post/plate is output.

As noted, if you orient the Kick below the battery, the positve battery end must still contact the bottom of the Kick. Basically, it is not totally unacceptable to invert the battery/Kick combo, except this makes the body of your mod the positive conductor.

Also, as the body of your battery (under the wrapper) is also the negative, you must be sure the wrapper is intact, without damage. If you were to orient the battery to make the body positive, and the wrapper is jeopardized in any way, so as to allow negative contact with the inside of the tube, ther is inherent possibility of explosion! Bad idea, especially as the Kick is drawing excessive amps from the battery to begin with.
