I took up vaping about 3-4 years ago. Back then I had a Halo Triton and eventually the iTaste VTR. After all this time I have decided to come back and give it more of a try to quit smoking. I was blown away by the changes in the industry. 3-4 years ago sub-ohm was only done by people who knew what they were doing. Now you can buy premade coils that are sub-ohm and hell even atomizer replacements that are sub-ohm.

I will be the first to say that I found what was missing the first time I tried vaping. MTL does not work for me, I need sub-ohm with a good DTL tank in order for me to get the same feeling I do with a cigarette.

I haven't completely quit smoking but offset cigarettes with the vape for the time being. Eventually I take another cigarette out of my day but I've went from a pack a day down to about 10-12 a day. That's improvement in my mind so I'm just trying to slowly cut them out instead of it being a huge shock and feeling like a failure if I smoke one every now an then.

Oh yea, current setup is the SMOK Alien with the Baby Beast and the Eleaf iStick Pico. I need to get another sub ohm tank for the iStick so that I don't have to rely so heavily on the SMOK.

Sometimes sub ohm and DL are what it takes... i started out MTL but after a month in, it wasnt enough to keep the craving down. Keep dropping off a ciggie or 2 each day and vape like theres no tomorrow and youll be off them for good quicker than you think you can. You didnt state your nic level but subbing i would do 6mg and stay there for a while. Good job to ya

Hi, welcome to ECF, like you I tried vaping a long time ago, and returning to it, well the choices and changes were dizzying! I started as a sub0hm vaper and found out MTL is more to my taste, but you are certainly not alone in finding DL "scratches the itch" and makes giving up cigarettes completely easier. I'm glad you are having a better time this time around. You might want to look at the Crown Uwell (original if you can get it, or 3, 2 is considered not the greatest vape) tank, it offers a lot of different resistance heads, and has a good reputation for flavor as a DL tank, and coils tend to last, from what I've seen.

But most of all, welcome to ECF and good luck with those last few cigarettes. If they wind up being really pesky, post about it for more suggestions (that you may not need, or be ready for, at this point.) Some folks just have a harder time than others. I had a hard time transitioning but I was a 3 ppd smoker.

Best of luck and welcome!

Anna

Hi, and welcome!

Good job cutting back! I have both mtl and dl tanks. I hadn’t been buying anything new for the longest time, and it’s amazing how much variety is out there now.

What sort of features are you looking for in a new tank? If you know the specs - how many mls, lots of air or restricted, available coils etc- I’m sure you’ll get recommendations. These people love to spend your money lol.

Hello and welcome. I know from experience you will have some detoxing to go thru whether you are smoking 10 or 1 cig a day. I would advise keeping a 12mg juice that compliments your 6mg. When jonesing add the 12mg to the tank may let you put off the next cig for a while. You will get there in your own time. Congrats on discovering dl, only thing that saved vaping for me.

Thanks for all your support and suggestions. I really enjoy the SMOK line for some reason so I think I'm going to stop by our local shop and see if they have the TFV12 Prince. Since I changed my coil the other day to the .15 and wattage at 52 I've been burning through juice but it tastes so good and makes me not want to smoke. I will also check out the Uwell Crown 3 as I watched a video on that recently. I have no problem having a bunch of tanks and mods again since I'm planning on sticking through this. Oh and someone else inquired, my nic level currently is 6mg-3mg. I bought a bunch of different bottles of both. The 6 seems to get really harsh sometimes so I usually only do that one in the morning for a tank then switch to 3mg. Eventually I'd like to get into the RTA area but I am not confident enough for all that so I will just continue to buy the premade coils, hell they are still cheaper than smoking.
