Kind of confused building a coil.

So, I am trying to build a 1.8 or so coil on my AGI. I am using 32 guage Kanthal. For some reason it's only coming out to 1.1 or less every time. I took my last good 1.1 ohm coil (which was a 4 wrap) and decided to rebuild it with higher resistance. I first wrapped it 5 times thinking it should go from 1.1 to 1.4 area. Nope. Went to 0.9. Added another wrap and it's STILL at 0.8 area. What am I doing wrong?

Like what was said in the other thread... You may have .32mm wire (28 guage). In the photo it looks like 28g. If that's the case, you almost need to double the wraps. I use 28g for micro coils and it takes 9,10,11 wraps to get around 2 ohms. The only thing is it takes a lot of battery to get them hot quickly.

Additional wraps (essentially adding more length to the coil) should increase the final resistance or ohms. My guess is you haven't yet learned to be consistant in the size of each wrap of the coil. I use 30g kanthal and 6/7 wraps to make a 2.0 ohm coil on my AGA-T2.

How are you wrapping the wire to make your coils? Most people are wrapping the wire around a small drill bit to acheive uniformity and consistancy of each wrap of wire. It does take a lot of practice and experience to accomplish this skill.

Not sure where Millbury, Ohio is. If there are any vapor B&M shops within driving distance of you, call and ask if any of the staff are experienced in making rebuildable coils and could they demonstrate how they do it. There are a couple of highly skilled sales people at my local vape shop who demonstrate how to wrap coils. PM me for details if needed.

In the meantime, I learned more about rebuildables and wrapping coils from this video than any other that I found:

Possible my genny has a hard short somewhere in it? I do use a tool for wrapping my coils nicely. Not a drill bit, but works just the like.

I can get it to read 1.4-1.5 ohms occasionally, but then I fire it and check again, and it's saying 0.8ohm. I wiggle the wick and such and I can get it to go back up, but not consistently.

Also, I double checked, 32 gauge Temco kanthal
