So I got a Smoktech RSST as my first rba. I have had an igo-w and an octopus rda for a while and love both of them having had zero issues other then a small air hole which was an easy fix.
So I get the RSST thinking I'd do ok with it and so far the thing is just complete junk.
I oxidized the wicks correctly (even went out and bought a mini torch to do so,) and set the RSST up with 400 mesh ss wick oxidized and 3/4 wraps of 32 gauge kanthal wire which came out to 1.8 ohms. First set up looked good I was proud of my coil it was burning perfect from both positive and negative terminals then slowly all the way through the coil after a couple of pulses. I put some new Mt Baker Vapor e-juice that has been steeping for about 4 days in the tank and saturated the wick. Did a couple of burns to make sure everything was going smoothly.
I got all excited to take my first draw and THE TASTE WAS AWFUL.
A ton of vapor but no flavor at all. I thought "hmm alright I do remember reading that it takes a tank or two for the flavor to really start to come out." but no. none. It was awful. Then I noticed that my tank started to crack. First it was one spot, then two, then the third was about halfway up the tank from the bottom to the top.
After about 3 tanks I said screw this and took it apart to clean it and have another go with a different flavor. Once I took the top tank piece off the tank like SPLIT IN HALF!
Awful flavor, tank is trashed, and now I'm stuck with it.
So given that, is there any way to repair the tank?
I don't want to give this up yet. What I don't understand is how I've been doing so well with the RDA's but once I got this RSST it turned into a nightmare.
