Kinda disappointed in the 510 cartos...

First off I would like to say that I have no problem with LiteCig. They got me my order pretty darn quick and everything was packed nicely. But I did not have the best experience with the 510 cartos.

I did a video review that I will get done in a few days. I did it on a green screen so I am doing some editing.

Anyways, I did like the 510 carto compared to a regular 510 atomizer. I got lots of vapor and the carts seemed to last for a few hours before refilling.

Now for my problems.

Number 1. The taste of the tobacco carts are kinda gross. The flavor I got was off. It's definitely the worst tobacco flavor I have tried so far. It is really hard to stomach and I was grateful when it ran out so I could refill it.

Number 2. You pretty much have to use a syringe or the condom method. I was able to pry off the cap of one carto with much angst, and seen it had glue holding it on. This could be looked as a good or bad thing. Good you wont swallow the cap, but bad for someone like me who likes to remove the cap to refill it.

Number 3. They dont seem to last very long. I know they are disposable, but other cartos i have last much longer if you keep them filled. Every one I have after 3 or 4 days, even after a fill you get a burning in your throat. This is my major complaint. I can deal with the gross taste and the glued cap, but the burning is really bad. It sucks cause I am wasting juice to fill them and then they are wasted. I went thru all 5 is about 10 days. And unlike another review I read, I do get popping and cracking with the 510 cartos.

I don't know if I just got a bad batch or what, but I was not satisfied with the cartos.

Because of the amount of vapor and throat hit you do get with the new carto and the nice size, I did give it 3 out of 5 stars. They are worth a try, but they dont seem to hold up like other cartos... in my opinion. I may give them another chance in the future, but right now I am kinda let down with the overall performance.

Again, I would like to say that LiteCig seems to be a good company and I have nothing bad to say about their company, I just wish the cartos would have lasted a bit longer. Lots of people said I would get at least a week out of one carto, and I got no where near that.

i bought the 510 cartos when Shawn first listed them so that was about a month ago. yes its true the cap was hard to come off but Shawn ordered the next batches with a rubber cap that comes off easy for refilling. I bought the blanks and always buy blanks this way i can put my own liquid in. I love these cartos. and believe it or not i am still on my first carto. its been refilled over 30 times. its not as good as it was when it was new but its great. all reviews i have seen from the 510 cartos were good. so i find it very hard to believe that it didnt last very long and like i said i am still on number 1 carto. I also did get a burnt taste yet at all. I have been using cartos since sept when i first started. when i first started yes i used to burn the cartos but no more. I also am a very heavy vapor. Once i fill my carto after awhile i will top off with 8 to 12 drops then continue to do so during the course of the day. That eliminates any burnte taste problems. after each use i do not rinse them out. i would say every 5th time or so i will run it under hot water until the filler is nice and white and keep blowing it out. i then let it sit overnite til its dry then refil in the morn and start the same process again.
I dont go crazy taking care of these cartos. My favorite and best cartridges i have used were the greencig cartos and after buying and using these cartos these 510 i got from Shawn replaced the greencigs. didnt replace them by quality but replaced them by vaping much better.
this is my opinion. Not every person will find these 510 cartos good i guess but i have had nothing but good experience with them. I love these babies. just my opinion. not saying anything bad about the ops opinion just saying this is my experience. everyone is entitlked to there own opinion. PS i forgot to add when you get the popping and crackling sounds that means the carto is working at its peak performance and means everything is fine. i was confused about this months ago with that sound but was told by many that if it crackles its a very good carto.

I too got the 510 carto's from Shawn. As with the OP's problem, I too had that happen.
I haverefilled them and they seem to be working good. The USA Mix isn't the best. What would u expect from China? Anyways, I know that everyone has their own ways of using these and own opinion's too, but when you get down to it, these are pretty new to the market and as such, we all will go through the growing pains on these carto's.
I had taken off the caps by boiling water in my microwave for 2 minutes on the highest setting. as soon as the water was done, I held the cap end in the water for 30 seconds and pried off the cap fairly easly.
Maybe with more feedback on them and getting the manf. to re-do or to come up with a better way to allow us to use these. I had 808 carto's last for 2 months. (total of 5) and threw them out 2 to 3 weeks ago and got new ones..
In time the 510's will be the same way.

yeh i agree with you about the China liquid. i dont like the liquid myself and dont use it except for the USA mix from Shawn. lol. yeh i actually kinda like that stuff lol. but its the only one i like and the only one i get from Shawn. i get my liquid elsewhere but everything else i get here.
But like you said these cartos will get better even though i am fine the way they are for now anyway. the thing is when Shawn first ordered them they came with hard plastic caps which were a pain. then Shawn got feedback about the caps being hard to come off and people started asking him for rubber caps. so he orders rubber caps for the 510 cartos. hopefully they will be in on next batch. So my point is as a supplier Shawn listens to his customers. great job Shawn. So like Stu said with a new product like the 510 cartos and Shawn staying right on top if it eventually these cartos will suit everyones needs down the road. And hopefully people that are having some problems with these cartos now will enjoy them later on. the 510 cartridges are very popular and making these cartomizers was a great idea.
oh btw Stu read your posts elsewhere and you like the color purple huh... yeh mods look great in purple i must say.

I just got some of these today (unbelievably fast shipping). I think I understand the condom method, but as far as topping off, can I just stick a syringe down the mouthpiece hole or what? I don't think I've read much about using syringes with these. These seem to be the hard mouthpiece. What's the point of using cartos if you're topping off throughout the day anyway? (not being sarcastic, legitimate question)

I think it's great you have had a good experience. I never said my experience was horrible, I just wish they worked a bit better and tasted better. I personally didn't have a problem with the popping and cracking either, but in another review I read on this forum, the person said "there was no popping and cracking like with my 510 atty" or something to that effect, and that is just false. Every one of mine pops and cracks. That was the only reason I even mentioned that.

Honestly, I expect a lot. I get a lot of juice from China and most juice out there comes from China, so my expectations are pretty high. This "usa mix" or whatever is just God-awful! It honestly makes me sick to my stomach.

The caps are the only thing I don't like about them(glad to see a fix is coming) i just broke mine off and used and 801 flat tip anyhow. No surprise the tobacco flavor is bad, never had one that was good, the menthol is good tho. They have lasted well for me, I have only opened one and have been using it for 22 days now, never cleaned, its not quite as good as it was at first but still working pretty good.

I with the rubber caps they will be good to go.

I am so surprised no one else has experienced the burning in the throat after a few refills. It has happened with every one of mine. After about 2-3 days of use, I fill them again (not filled for the first time, fill every few hours when needed, as normal) and I get the burning. It's not necessary a burning taste, but it burns my throat to vape from them, so I toss them aside and open a new one... Anyone else out there get this, or did I get a bad batch? I would look past the taste if they didn't do this...

I love mine however on 5 volts they can become burnt tasting easier than 808s but for 3.7 volt vaping I think they're great. No problem removing caps, They have larger lip on the cap so it goes down farther but mine popped right off. No inner ring though.

Yeah, I am using a 5v passthru (well they advertise it as 5v... not sure how true it is) but I also get it on a regular 510 battery...

Maybe I'm off my rocker here, but this 'burning in the back of throat' sounds like it's just delivering strong 'throat hit'. I use 510 cartomizers at 6v exclusively, and it just simply kicks like a mule, especially with Shawn's 'deuce' liquid.

The type of inhale (mouth inhale vs. direct lung inhale) also changes the type of throat hit/burn, in my experience, as well.

I can only describe it as being extremely harsh burning in the back of the throat. It doesn't happen when I first start using it. Its after 2-3 days of refills. Definitely not normal... I can not understand how people are getting 20-30+ days off of these, let alone a week.

Kalojado man i wish i can help you. I wont talk about China juice as respect for Shawn as he sell it. The only China juice i use is USA from Shawn. lol. yep you heard me right. but i mix it with something.
i do not get any burning taste at all. my hits are quite smooth and yet i do get a good Throat hit. I would say my nic level is between 24 and 32mg.
Like i mentioned before i dont not do anything special toi make these cartos last. i just vape em. maybe every 5th time i willl rinse it out under hot water let it sit overnite then refill it in the am. ok what happens when you use a KR808 carto? do you get any burning in back of your Throat? if not then just use Shawns KR808 cartos. and dont worry about your post sounding wierd. it is not wierd. everyone has different taste buds so dont worry bout it. we just are trying to help you out. I mean if i had a burning taste in my throat i would change something myself. anyway dont know what else to say to help so Good luck

All I can say is that after a day I'm thrilled with these cartos. They may be a tad weaker in TH and taste than standards (and I can't swear to that yet), but I'm really liking how long they last at 5V.
