It took me three things to give up smoking.

1. Finding a mod and tank that provided enough vapor for me. I never liked the weak vape of the cigalikes.

2. Finding the right strength of nicotine. Once you're fully off the cigarettes you can slowly cut back on the nicotine level, but it has to be high enough to stop the cravings to start with. For me, I craved cigarettes at anything lower than 24mg when I first started. Now I vape 2mg juices. Very nearly nicotine free and because I did it in slow, gradual steps I never had any cravings.

3. For me the biggest factor in making the switch and quitting cigarettes entirely was to stop using tobacco flavored juices entirely. Once I got away from the tobacco and found alternative flavors that I really liked it was easy to quit because the tobacco quickly started tasting nasty.

And I didn't just up and quit in a single day. I went months of doing both vaping and smoking when I was using tobacco flavored juices. Once I stopped using those and switched to candy flavor (mints especially) I simply smoked less and less and vaped more and more. I reached the point where I would light a cigarette, take 3-4 puffs, and put it back out because I preferred the taste of my ecig more. When I did quit I still walked around with a half pack of cigarettes for a month before I finally tossed them. It was never a "Today I quit" moment for me, it was more of a "you know what? I haven't had a cigarette in 2 days" without even planning on it.

I'm sorry for posting and then going MIA. I live in Georgia and yesterday was election day for local offices. I worked 14 and a half hours at one of the polling precincts. Yep, I'm tired and whiney!!! On Monday I did visit my local vape shop. I had a great conversation with the young man working there. I was concerned about battery exploding issues. He calmed my fears. He answered all the questions. I bought a new (what is the name of it...) top thingy that holds the liquid. He explained about air flow and I like the new one I got. It's glass and will work great with my favorite flavor, cinnamon. I asked about the eliquids I have had for years. He said they should be fine, but the MG is probably lower than it was originally. That's fine with me. I asked what would be the next thing I should think about going to. He showed me several different models. I told him I had to commit to a month before I bought anything else.

Going back to working at the election poll yesterday. Our precinct was at a school and there is a no smoking policy. So I was able to sneak away and vape and I made it all day with only 1 cigarette at lunch. Today I am going to commit to vaping. Thanks for all your assistance!!!

Somewhere out there
I quit with cig a likes too but I know that brain, mine was telling me I would die if I didn't have a real smoke, I had to tell my brain it was lying and vape first, wait 15 min. Eventually vaping was what I liked best and smokes had no hold on me. But that is the tough part to get thru, just keep on vaping and if you have to smoke don't worry, just keep on vaping :)
