Well, its time for me to buy a new pair of batteries for my segalei 150w. My sony vtc's still run good but they're old, had em since april. Its safe to say, Sony VTC's were the battery kings of the 18650 realm, but now they're out of the game. With so many rumors of fake vtcs out there, its not worth the risk of trying to look for antithetic vtc's. What I want to know is, who is the new battery king, or are they all pretty much the same performance wise? I heard alot about the mxjo and the samsung imrs... Whats your opinion???

If you need the 30A limit of the VTC4 I would buy them from Illumination Supply. They don't sell counterfeits. If you don't need 30A, I would go with Samsung 25R, also from Illumn. They will last a bit longer between charges.

The Steam Engine battery drain calculator says that your mod at 150 watts will be drawing about 30A from each battery when battery voltage is 6.0v, as it will be when they are almost empty.

I ordered a pair of LG HE4 batteries from BeVapeHappy and they sent me the Samsung 25Rs. I was going to send them back for an exchange but I don't see anybody recommending the HE4's over the 25R's. Maybe I'll just keep them even though I already have a set of 25R's.

It's been tough finding anything vape related about the new LG's.

Sony's are still available, and they are definitely the KING for Sub-Ohm vapors. I have both VTC4 / VTC5 and Samsung 25R's. The 25R's are nice batteries and I will certainly be buying more. They are rated at 20A and have great run time. Plus Samsung makes really good batteries. I recently picked up some Efest 18650 2100mah 30A batteries that have been working well. I don't trust Efest's amp ratings, so I stay around 1 Ohm or above with them. Hopefully HKJ will test them soon, if they prove to be legitimate, they will prove valuable to the vaping community. I did email Efest, they responded that the batteries were indeed 30A, with a 60A pulse for up to seventy-five seconds. I would use caution is using them in super low builds. Until I see a test from a credible tester, I'll assume they are around 20A. There are some who claim they are Sony VTC4 batteries, I have both and can tell you that that are not VTC4's. So I'd either grab some Sony VTC4 or Samsung 25R's.

The reason people say that the Efest 30A is a Sony VTC4 is that Efest decided that the very first batch of purple 2100mah 30A batteries were going to be re-wrapped sony VTC4's(I own two of these re-wraps, they were authentic VTC4's), I personally think that they did this so people would think they were always getting VTC4's but without telling anyone overnight they decided to switch the battery that was under the wrapper to an LG battery cell. Shady, and most of the reason Efest gets none of my battery sales.

XTAR (the folks who make CHARGERS) have the 25R's at $6.99 each. I believe the price is quite fair and they do not sell "clones / fakes" based on dozens of recommendations I received here as well as on two other forums (smaller than ECF, but the folks are helpful as heck).
