So, I'm a very occasional smoker, and when I do smoke, it's not about the nicotine. It's more of an oral fix/visual sort of thing. I also live in an apartment where the landlord lives on the premises and would pretty much know immediately if I tried to smoke indoors. E-cigs seem to be the right thing for me.

It seems like all the 'kits' that get sold come with cartridges that have nicotine in them. I don't want the nicotine at all, so I don't want to pay for it. But buying the pieces separately is still more expensive than a kit. Does anyone offer a nicotine-free kit? I'm really most interested in the 510/Titan e-cig. It seems like Kingpin has the best deal I've seen at $40, but maybe there's a better one out there I'm not aware of.

Also, I notice that the vapors come in lots of interesting flavors, but do the flavors also make things smell? As in, if I vape some 'french pipe' or clove or something indoors, will the room/my clothes smell like it? If I were to get flavorless liquid, would it have a chemical taste to it, or does it just taste like water?

Thanks for the help, guys!

I'm not aware of anyone who sells kits with zero nic as an option offhand. I think cignot.com has the same thing Kingpin does, for $5 less (unless there's a discount code or difference in shipping costs I'm not accounting for). You could TRY contacting the seller you decide to go with and see if they'll substutute, say, blank cartridges for the default (which tends to be high-nic marlboro flavor. I know I saw one that had a variety before but I can't remember where). A lot of these operations are small, and the operators are pretty friendly in general. I suppose the absolute worst case is you end up with a few carts you never use.

I've not had anyone recently comment on odors, including the non-smokers I know. That said, they usually didn't comment even when I was smoking analogs, so that's not 100% reliable - but I can definately smell the odor of smoke on others now very strongly (when before I'd practically have to have my nose in their throat to smell it lol). I have read some indication that some flavors do linger ever-so-slightly in the air, though.

No smell, it's water vapor. Oh someone thought they smelled chocolate once when I was vaping vanilla but they were very close to me at the time. And if there is a very faint smell, it does not linger. Your landlord won't know. And your clothes won't smell either. My son let's me vape in his new car AND in his apartment, places I was never allowed to smoke analogs. :)

All kits usually come with 5 carts of varying strengths, one being 0mg. You can certainly wash the other 4 out if you so desire and fill with 0mg nic juice. Carts are inexpensive anyway. Buy some blanks. Good luck to you!

P.S. I've never vaped unflavored straight PG or VG, but I know there are plenty here who has. I'm sure they will post to let you know.

Straight VG (vegetable glycerin) doesn't taste like much of anything. But that shouldn't matter because adding a flavoring won't create any real odor anyway. I've sucked a lot of different juices and the only one with a slightly lingering smell was Pina Colada. Made my girlfriends car smell of an air freshener for a few minutes. That's right, a few minutes. Strong coconut is all. Quickly dissipated though unfortunately.
