I am someone who is a social smoker but likes to "smoke" casually now and then. (average of 1-2 cigs a day if I have a pack) Having come to the realization that I am addicted somewhat to cigarettes, I have been "quitting" and have forced myself to stop smoking despite the temptations. The idea of an e-cig which is harmless and contains little/no-nicotine (I would use the ultra light or no nicotine cartridges) seems interesting. I like the activity of smoking and now that there is a harmless option that still produces "smoke" I am interested. Does the smoke have any smell similar to tobacco when used indoors?

Would you suggest I try the e-cig? It would be more of a "toy" for me. I am looking for the lowest priced kit which is available in or can be shipped to Canada. I liked the Blu one but it is not available for Canadians. :nah: The idea of multiple flavors seems really enticing as well. As long as it's not expensive (the kit) and it includes cartridges that are very low or non-nicotine I'll check it out.

Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't know who ships to Canada and who doesn't. I am very happy with my 510 kit they are fairly cheap and work great. But if you don't like to fiddle around the KR808D-1 is the other top choice. Personally I would go with the 510 I have tried them both and I just prefer the 510.

right now for the 510 I would go with Cignot, madvapes or R & R Vaporz. I'm sure you could e-mail them and find out if they will ship to you or not.

I've only tried Green Smoke and Vapor King which is a KR808D-1 from Vapor4Life. Both are good but Vapor King is much cheaper. Just be careful and get 0 or VERY low to start out, its easy to get carried away and chain vape all day. You don't want to increase your dependence. I smoked about 1/2 pack a day now I vape 8mg in the am, 0 during the day and 6 when I have a strong urge, and have not had an overwhelming desire to light up in the 2 weeks since I started. Hope this helps :thumb:

The "smoke" is the same that is used for fog machines at concerts, magic shows, etc. The main ingredient (Propylene Glycol or Vegetable Glycerin) is what makes the “smoke” and does not have a noticeable odor in and of itself; however, the flavorings do. If you blow the "smoke" directly into someone's face (with their permission of course) they can smell the flavoring briefly just before the "smoke" rapidly dissipates.

Personally I'd say to just stop while your ahead. While e-cigarettes are WAY safer than traditional cigarettes, I'm sure there still not great for You. Vaping for most people becomes a hobby, at least on the forums. It becomes rather expensive for most, as Your constantly wanting to try all these great to products. With e-cigarettes still a fairly new device, they evolve right before your eyes, literally.

You can scope out the vaping scene one day, then check back a month or two later and theres a whole new world of things out there.

In your case, You say You smoke one or two cigs a day, I'd go ahead and apply a little will power and just stop all together. If your not trying to replace a bad habit thats killing you, I wouldn't start with e-cigarettes.

Don't get me wrong, not trying to be Your nanny or anything. If You want to start vaping, more power to You! :) Just be prepared to get obsessed.

If You decide You do indeed want to start, You absolutely cannot go wrong with this starter kit. http://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-510-nbx.htm

The 510 is by far the most common e-cig available. Easy to find parts for should You need new batteries, atomizers or whatever. You can find 510's among almost every online e-cig store out there, but this kit from cignot seems to be the best bang for your buck to get started.

**edit** Doh! it looks like cignot doesn't ship to Canada? Well... You can use the suppliers list on the main page to find a supplier that does ship there, I'm sure there are dozens. Still, the 510 is great for beginners. The Janty eGo is another great device, uses 510 parts but has a great deal more battery life. It will cost You a bit more money though.

Found one! It appears madvapes ships to Canada, this kit would be perfect for a new vaper. http://www.madvapes.com/510-Manual-Battery-Kit-Black-no-Box_p_2346.html

I don't know that I would suggest starting vaping if you don't smoke. One or two a day says to me you are not a smoker. Not trying to sound snooty, that is a great thing.

I don't really think vaping would hurt you (I don't think one or two cigarettes a day will either though) but you do run the risk of getting your body wanting more nicotine. This could prove problematic if one day you run out of juice, your pv breaks etc... No sense making your life complicated.

That said, I am a fan of addiction. Seriously, I know that sounds stupid, but hear me out. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE is addicted to something. Tends to be the human condition. We are very much creatures of habit, and having a "safety blanket" in our day to day is a pretty natural thing. Doing something that is familiar puts you in your comfort zone, and that is something your body enjoys very much. Be it coffee, nicotine, exercise, video games etc... it is common (and I think important) for everyone to have some kind of vice. It's just that nicotine is a dangerous one, not because of the chemical itself, but because of what your body might tell you to do to get it should your pv ever fail you. I am no expert or anything, just my two pennies.

Maybe try the no nic juices, but at that point it seems like you would be better served just not smoking anything. No sense spending extra money right? Up to you though, I won't say a firm yes or no. If you vape, I will vape right along with you and never say boo about it. Good luck whatever you decide, and keep asking questions.

If you are looking to just play around with e-cigs, do yourself a favour and use only non-nicotine fluid. The amount of cigarettes you smoke is so small you can easily avoid becoming addicted to nicotine if you stop right now.

That said, I don't see the harm in messing with non-nicotine juice.

Happyvaper is in Canada and Jack sells the hardware as well as non-nicotine juice (he actually doesn't sell any with nicotine). He's a good guy.

You never know if ecigs wil get you more hooked on the nicotine and make you want the nicotine more, know what i mean, but it is your choice and if you did try it i would go with a 510 model JMo

Thanks for the advice everyone. When I said I smoked 1-2 a day, I meant I was a smoker who did crave cigarettes and often I would smoke more than 2. The fact of the matter was, I felt addicted and therefore decided to do a real "quit". What kept me from smoking was the price of cigarettes in Canada and the idea of spending money on something that is bad for you.

My one vice and trigger is drinking. As soon as I drink my inhibitions go south and I immediately start asking for a cigarette from anyone around. Smoking while drinking has been the only time I have smoked since I "quit" in mid-April.

The E-Cig life is already confusing me. Dripping, manual/automatic batteries, cartomizers, cartridges, blah blah blah. So many things to know just to inhale vapour. Then there's the chance of reactions to the PG, having to mix liquids, etc. I'm curious to try an e-cig but I can't see myself spending $60-70 on it only to find out it's not for me.

You can check this out. It says disposable but everone seems to be getting a ton of recharges out of it. By the time you have killed it you will have already saved enough money for a better kit and found out if it's for you or not.

Manual 510 DISPOSABLE E-CIG KIT with Blue LED

Get some liquid while your at it MadVapes has some great stuff. The very berry is great and I have heard the baked apple is amazing. Plus if you decide to go with a 510 kit then you still have the atty which runs at least $5 anyway. This would be the cheapest way to know if vaping is for you.
