Was attempting to broaden my horizons a bit, and ordered a 510 the other day. New to all of this, but my only real experience was with my KR808. The 808 draw is very easy, but the 510 seems to be much more difficult.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this typical? I'm not liking the 510 at this point, but I wouldn't want to turn my back on it if I'm not doing something right...

The cart seems to draw fine. I jump started it with a drip, but even tail-piping it just doesn't draw... Is something wrong with my unit? With my method?

Thanks in advance...

With my 510 I use manual batteries for more control, safe from damage by leaks, and I think an easier draw. I also don't use the atomizer/cart. I use standard resistance Boge cartomizer w/ 80pg/20vg juices (thin juices that seem to make the cartos work well longer for me as well as vape easier. thicker juice seem to make the drag sluggish). Note - on slim batteries you have to use standard resistance cartos/attys, not LR. I think my 510 manual with thin juices and Boge cartos has an easier draw than some KR808D-1 w/ vapor4Life cartos. Sometimes after I have reused a Boge over 1-2 weeks then a new V4L carto has an easier drag? Not sure since the drag varies with Vapor4ife cartos.

KR8 IS a hotter mini - a real 3.7v device vs 510's 3.2v or so. I use plastic drip tips as mouthpieces on my cartos so I am not drawing through that tiny hole.

Did you try blowing out the atty? (take it off and blow out into a tissue). Maybe you flooded it. And if you bought an auto battery then I do not know how they draw. I do not buy auto batteries. I use manuals and press the button in 1-1.5 seconds before the start of my drag so there is already vapor made.

You don't say what brand the atty or battery are, but some are a harder draw than others. I'm using Joye brand and they're an easy draw. I got some off brand once that were pretty tight. You can try unscrewing it a bit and see if that helps. You want to screw atty's or cartos in until they just make contact. Overtightening can damage the connector on the battery.

It is a true Joye 510... at least that's what the instructions said, and the charger does say "Model: Joye 510" on it, and the box is a simple white box with a small "510 in the lower right corner.

It seems to be getting better, or perhaps I'm getting used to it. I realized I had to get rid of the primer (which I think might still be burning off a bit). The draw still isn't anywhere near as light as the 808 though, which is almost like sucking on a straw... The 510 may be closer to an analog, just not what I'm used to over the last week with the 808.

I backed off the atty just until it was making contact, and that doesn't seem to make it any better... Perhaps I just have to get used to it... I'm pretty sure I never had it on too tight, as I had a similar problem with an 808 carto...

excuse me for hijacking, but dormouse where do you recommend looking for drip tips compatible with KR808 cartos? Thanks, hijack over!

kr808's are a 901 threading...therefore a 510/901 drip tip will work. You can get them at just about any vendor.

Sorry for hijacking...dormouse
