one thing I have noticed with my v4l is that with the xl battery the draw is very heavy (not easy to pull air through) but vapes well, with the regular auto batteries the draw is around half what the xl is, and they dont get the carto as hot and have wonderful flavor. I really like the battery life of the xl but like the draw of the regular auto's. have some manuals regulars on the way and will see where they fall in the draw area.

On the 808, the batteries get clogged like attys do on other models.

If the little air holes on the threaded part of the battery that the cartomizer screws into gets clogged with juice/dust/grime, it will make it harder to draw on.

If it gets really dirty the entire circle of empty space around the center post can get clogged, if you flood your cartos to the point they leak out the battery side.

You can go find a really small pin, has to be very fine and poke into the holes. Then carefully (dont push down into the battery hard) go around the center post with the pin. Your just trying to scrape the grime off the inside of the outer metal ring. Then hit with canned air, or blow on it to get it out of there.

I had 1 battery that became so hard to draw on I couldn't use it. I did what I am suggesting and it came back to 90% like new.

very good info to know, but my xl came very hard to draw and the autos brand new also were way less. wonder if my holes are just to small or not there on the xl

I dip a toothbrush in some alcohol and put the bristles up . twisting the battery connect end into the bristles for about 3 -5 minutes . also rubbing that end back and forth helps . obviously the led is up so the alcohol does not get into the battery . last i take the pin and poke through all 4 holes . let it dry for a few minutes and it is good again . I have heard of some soaking the battery connect end in a shot glass with a little alcohol in it . but it does seem like your battery could be dirty . I also look into the cart with the with and translucent o rings out to see if there is a clear hole in the middle of the cart . if there is i take a long pin and open it back up .

Alcohol on a toothbrush opened up the draw in a matter of minutes. THanks!!

Rob, did you get a kit from V4L or just buy pieces?

I'm only asking because the kits I have (not from v4l) came with maintenance instructions telling you to clean the connectors from time to time if the draw becomes hard.

I know when I buy just batteries they don't come with maintenance instructions.
I have Kr8 batteries from 3 different vendors right now.

I think some of them have the filler blocking the little hole in the middle. I've had new ones vape easy and some hard. If you hold it up to the light you can see light real good in some not so good in others. When I get one really bad i run a little wire through it back and forth to open it up but you got to be careful not to snag the wires or you'll toast a carto.
