KR808D-1 battery question from Newbie

My "Prime Vapor" starter kit came with two KR808D-1 batteries, one worked and one was inoperable.
I sent the bad one back and by the time I recieved the replacement, my first one literally melted!
Needless to say, the company refunded my money . . .

Here's the prob . . the second one started crapping out after a couple days and by the end of the week stopped working altogether. It was clogged, off/on, blinking, etc. I threw it in the trash.

I just got a new KR808D-1 Mega XL battery from a different company and WOW what a difference!

What I have read, these are supposed to be great batteries so I assume I had bought some cheap chinese crap from a unreputable company. As I got the hang of vaping, I realized that I should take slower draws, let the battery blink before charging, etc.

Also, are they supposed to clog up so that no air comes through?

Is there a sure way to clean them if they do clog?

I assume since it is an electronic battery that I can use some electronic contact cleaner?

i use 91% rubbing alcohol and qtip to clean the connections about every 3 days just to be on the safe side, with the carto off the bat you can see a few little holes; i use a safty pin to unclog these when the draw starts to tighten up. if your using auto bats sometimes you can suck and blow on the bat without the carto on to unstick the little switch thats in there. they can get cloged by particals from you pocket, dust, juice leaking through ect. like i said about every 3 day works for me and i dont every really have a problem best of luck to ya if i didnt answer a question for you you can post some more and youll get all the answers you need! have a great day!

If you bought automatic batteries then you have to watch out for the hole in the threaded end. Dripping or overfilling cartos is not good for autos because loose juice could get inside the battery and at the very least destroy the drag-detecting mechanism and make it not work,

I bought V4L's manuals - I believe the little hole in the end of the battery is blocked off in them. I got mine at Vapor4Life.com (their "Vapor King" is KR808D-1). Also V4L's batteries definitely have an air groove through the center of the contact end of the battery so they give good air flow. The cartos needs air notches on the edge of threaded end, and an atty needs one or more air holes (I use a 901 atty and cart sometimes on my KR8)

Re batteries and air - there is only the one hole in the threaded end of an auto battery - air doesn't really flow through the battery - the hole just leads to a sensor that detects dragging (or sometimes of wind or vibration).
