I am going on week three of being an ex-smoker and am doing great so far. Don't miss cigs in the least. My kit came with an automatic, a manual and a USB pass through. I'm not too wild about the automatic but the manual and the pass through are awesome. I got a lot of great flavors and and am enjoying the chocolate and menthol the best so far. Surprisingly enough the cig flavored ones taste yucky.

My real question to the experts here is should I be cleaning my batteries? The cartomizers don't seem to be lasting as long as when I first started a few weeks ago. It also don't seem to be as strong.... at first the vapor hits would make me cough and now they don't.

Does any of this sound normal to you guys?

The only thing you should need to do with the batteries is wipe off the threads. You can do this with a paper towel or a Q-tip.

You probably aren't coughing because now you're used to vaping. A lot of us coughed when we first started, just like we did when we first started smoking.

If you're using prefilled cartos, you might want to consider buying juice and refilling them yourself. Prefilleds are known to be nasty tasting and inconsistent. It's much more economical to buy blank cartos and refill them yourself. It's very easy, too!

I always wipe off the threaded end of my batteries before sticking them in the charger.

And I recommend you use an AC-to-USB adapter for charging (needs 500mA to charge a battery) and a passthrough-capable AC-to-USB adapter for the passthru. That way you can be sure they are getting the power they need to charge. I use one of these 4-port 2amp USB-to-AC adapters for my battery cables - but they are out of stock again... they run of stock out a lot
Newegg.com - Rosewill 2 Amp 4 Port USB Wall Charger RUC-6180 for iPhone/iPod/iPad/MP3

if your PT need 2amps you could use it alone on that same adapter. If it uses 1amp then you could use it on that adapter while charging 2 batteries (a battery usually need 500mA = 1/2 amp to charge). Any combination that needs a total of 2amps or less can be used on that as long as the cables will fit in the alotted space (I can only use one short hard battery adapter on the end, and use cable-type plugs in the rest)

I think as you get used to vaping, it seems smoother and you start vaping more or taking bigger drags so slowly your usage can increase compared to when you started. I try not to let myself over-vape because I don't want to escalate my needs. I do find drinking cold fluids like ice water can refresh the flavor and hit of the vape. Drinking hot liquids like tea seems to dull the flavor and hit.

Sounds quite normal. When I first started vaping, I coughed a bit with good draws and developed a minor sore throat. A few weeks later, the coughing and minor sore throat went away. Guess I got used to it, just like I did with analogs many years ago.

As far as the manual vs. auto batt; not a surprise. I think most folks prefer the manual. Not all, but a lot of folks.
And the carto issue: All cartos are not created equal. I've had some that worked well for weeks even after cleaning and refilling a few times, some have lasted only a couple days. Hopefully, you have some fresh blanks to use.

I used to smoke menthol analogs(still do smoke a few each day) and enjoy menthol e-juice. I usually add a small amount to peach, cherry, or strawberry flavor. I too, have tried some tobacco juices and don't care for them.

I clean the connector threads of my batts with a bit of Isopropyl Alcohol on a Q-tip. Be careful with your auto batt. Don't let the IA get in the hole and short out it out.

I have a battery that doesn't want to charge. I cleaned the thread with PGA but I cannot put that in to the little cavity around the connection to the charger. I see the newb's video for manual version, you can put that in condom and wash them off. How can I do that same for automatic? I tried to put tooth pick brush thing in between and it got a little better, but I am sure I can get more out if I can some how submerge just the tip of the connection to PGA.

I use isopropyl alcohol for connector cleaning. Just pour some in the bottle cap, enough to fully cover the battery connector but not much more. Put the battery into the cap, prop it up and let it sit a while. Afterwards, wipe with a bit of knotted-up tissue, and poke the air inlet holes with a small paperclip or tack, then use a tack between the outer edge of the connector and the center post to dredge up any gunk (don't push down hard, this is just to scrape the sludge). Give it some decent drying time before firing it up. I do this periodically, keeps things generally working well.
