Simple problem. Maybe not a simple solution.

I've got a chrome brass mod, it's a knock off of something just not certain what.

Anyway I have been using it with not any problems, then the 510 THREADS ALL LOOSENED! and now the entire 510 center pin area is wider than it was before... and the threading of the device and atomizer don't touch.

I've tried to squeeze the cap but that feel like I'm going to break it before anything else.

Any solution? I know I can replace the whole mod for like $20, but don't want to wait 6 weeks for delivery of a new one...

I have the same 510 thread problem with mine... Take some cotton and roll it up like if you were making a wick... Cut it in half so you have 2 short wicks and place them on the 510 connecter so the tips meet at the middle... Then screw on your atomizer and the two wicks will lessen the thread gap and allow the atomizer to screw in...
It does give you a noticable voltage drop and if you position the wicks wrong it wont fire, but it works as a last resort if you like me only got a single mech....

Just waiting for my galileo and m16 to arrive so i can be done with this hot button stripped thread piece of junk... When it was brand spanking new it was great but it has served its time and when the galileo and m16 arrives it will get polished up and retired

I have a KTS+, I believe it is a copy of the GGTS (Golden Greek Telescopic Storm).

My 510 threads also stripped out over time, but the vendor I got it from (Fasttech) sent me a new head unit for free with my next order after it happened. The battery spring also broke on it, and a free replacement for that is on its way as well. The question is, how long will these replacement parts last? I can't expect a vendor to keep sending free parts when they really don't have to, and its not fun waiting the 2+ weeks for them to show up. Kudos to Fasttech, but I will give up on this mod the next time it wears out or breaks.

IMO you should start over on a new mod. There are better quality clones out there nowadays.

Many thanks for all who replied.

I am actually able to use it with a 510/ego adapter with some strategically located teflon tape around the threads. It raises the tank up QUITE A BIT but does still work that way. This was an impulse buy at a local B&M shop, because I didn't have a mech mod, only regulated mods (evic/svd). It got very little use. Obviously one of my tanks I used stretched out that center area where the 510 threads are. Now when I try to attach my AGA-T2 or PROTANK2 (as examples) they FREELY go in and out without touching the threads whatsoever. Pretty wild that cap is THAT SOFT that it would stretch to the point of being unusable.

I've seen a replacement head for $10, but I can buy a whole new mod on FT for $20.... The place I got it from told me SORRY. No warranty. :(

It sounds like you stripped the threads. Usually a 510-510 adapter can solve this issue, at least for a while. SmokTech makes a tank airflow control that would work the same way, and it would look less awkward than an adapter.

Tank Airflow Controller

That looks like the most cost effective solution without looking completely stupid. MANY THANKS.
