Just tried all 3 of my novas & mini nova on mine ... they all work great.

What are the symptoms you are having? (no air flow // no elec contact)

i have no air draw at all with minis and it also just keep shutting off after a few tokes.....maybe there is a setup i don't know about.....my average resistance ia about 2 ohms....too low maybe...i don't know

Mine is round, so that's not the problem.

Going by what I had with my chrome L-Rider V1, the split center post is more than likely cutting off the air flow. All he needs to do is spread it a little bit so that it won't go inside the center post of his nova.

ok ..will try that...what did u use to spread it

that's another thing....why would yours work perfect and mine not at all....does not make any sense at all

If that split center pin goes inside the + post of the Nova, there will be no air flow. If it does not, the Nova works fine.

Now be careful spreading the center pin, all you want is for the slot in the middle of it to be parallel from top to bottom instead of closed up at the top. It doesn't take much to get it to work right. I just used a small screwdriver.

thanks for the tip, but i don't see any way to spread that slot without breaking it. the damn thing spins..don't want to press it sideways,,,seems to be stressing the whole post and not spreading the slot

    btw..the slot was already parallel

just got mine in, i got the square bodied one. This thing is really nice! about an inch and a half shorter than the ego vv 14500. Has battery check, ohm check and a nice readable screen. Its a flat signal, not PWM. I love the self adjusting center pin and recessed ego connector. I'm just digging the way it feels in the hand.

Here is shot of a ego vv 14500, lambo robust, and 650 mah ego twist.

    Your pin is fine.

The only other reason for no air flow would be if there is no gap between the PV and the Nova.
Take a piece of paper and place it so that it will be between the PV and the nova (on one side). This will insure an air gap on the other side.
One of my old Mini Novas had this problem on my Provari, and I cut air slots on the bottom plate of the mini to solve it (I could also have used a shorty extension, but I didn't like the way it looked)

Ewww! I'd better clean that puppy up! You can't see the slots when it's on a PV

ive had no trouble with the nova's

However, it appears to have a ~2 amp limit. Also, the voltage regulation is poor. As the battery drains, it's not staying at the voltage you set it at.

I liked it when i first got it, but as the battery drained, you could tell. It's got nice features but the voltage regulation is just poor poor poor.

I'm disappointed, and wouldn't recommend this mod. I'm kinda ...... i payed $50 for this.

Disappointed to hear this. I was looking at this for out-and-about instead of my full sized Provari with ext. cap. Occassionaly I've been taking my Altsmoke BB (14500 fixed voltage mod) out with me and keep thinking how nice it would be to have a VV mod of its size.

How does the eGo vv 14500 compare in build quality and performance? It looks from the picture it is larger and of a better build.

    Mr Busardo's review has given me all the info I need;

It seems like L-Rider still haven't got to grips with voltage regulation - voltage drops through the life of the battery just like the old Lavatube. I can make a mod with an OKR-T chip that can cut it but L-Rider are incapable.

You're better off with a KGO VV - does 6volts, maintains voltage until the end and costs half the price...

Build quality is not as good as the robust. It feels cheap, but then it is only $25 so you expect corners cut. It doesn't do resistance check but it does have a battery gauge. It does a better job than the robust on the regulation and amp front.

    got another update.

I tried it with a 2.7ohm mini vivi nova. The regulation is working much better. I think whats going on is when you get close the amp limit it falls apart. Now on the 2.7ohm head, with the same battery its running spot on to what i set it to at 4.7v. Not going higher cause its getting a burnt taste.

So on low ohm carto's/atty's, this thing is crap. On higher ohm, it performs much better. I think im going to keep using it and just make sure i dont use low ohm stuff on it. Kinda like what we had to do on the original lava tubes. I like the looks, like the way it feels, like the features. Just dont like the low amp limit but i can work around it.

well, that is the problem....all my stuff is low res....after a couple of hits it shuts down.....it is useless to me...gonna try to sell it in classifieds
