To be perfectly honest, I dont think it holds any secrets for our future atomizers. I believe someone stated that it also uses a nichrome wire. The wire is inside of a narrow mettalic sleeve and the wire runs down into the fluid chamber and wicks the fluid. It does operate at 9 volts...so the nichrome wire may be a thicker gauge and therefore, hold up to higher voltage ....but not sure. Also have no clue what the expected lifespan is of this thing....but I've got one that I'm planning on modding into an experiment, so I may just get to find out how long the wire lasts. :D

I highly recommend changing the shape.;)
