(Whoa Nelly!)

Phenomenal success first rattlesnake out of the box. I Really did not expect such great results for batch #1. I hope I haven't given myself the old "*Fisherman's Curse."

I just got my stuff from WL and made a simple brew with four ingredients: PG Nic base, VG, Flavor, and sweetener. The only (maybe) deviation from the plan was that where my recipe called for a full ml of flavor, I decided to count drops coming out of the end of the syringe. I counted twenty and stopped to check and there was still about half a ml in the syringe so I decided to stop, and I'm glad I did.

I put it on the stirrer for about an hour. I was planning on leaving it there for a day at least, but, of course, curiosity go the better of me so I put a few drips in the test atty.

FREAKISHLY AWSOME!

  • Nice TH.
  • Crisp ginger flavor with just a hint of "bread".
  • Nicely sweet (I dont like things very sweet at all).
  • Good clouds.
  • Heart rate and muscle relaxation response says nic may be on the stout side, but that's ok with me.
  • Almost clear. Burns clean
  • Bottle note is MUCH stronger than flavor.

I could not be more pleased. I just hope it doesn't "steep to bad."

Seriously, I like this so much that I loaded a big Vivi nova with it. So far, I've blissed out on about 1.5 ml and it seems to wick beautifully.

I thought something was supposed to go wrong the first time, so I'm really kind of spooked.

Update:Removed attachment, more about the variations

I used ejuice Me Up to recalculate my percentages to reflect what the syringe says. Basically dropping it back from 10% flavor to 5%. Also, my original plan was to use a 5% solution of vg based sucralose sweetener, but I had some saturate in water that I was using for coffee so by putting in two drops, I ended up with a much higher sweetener level than I was planning, but it worked out just great. If you want to make some, dissolve a teaspoon of sucralose powder in 30 ml of water. To me, that seems to act like 1 drop = 1 tsp sugar (in coffee).

Now, going by syringe delineations, the mix is:
  • 50% PG Nic Base @ 60 mg
  • 44 % VG Base
  • 5 % Flavor
  • 1% Sweetener

*Fisherman's Curse - You catch a fish on your first cast and for the rest of the trip you catch bupkis while watching your buddies haul in bigger ones; you run out of beer, get a hook in your hand, and probably have a flat on the way home.

Have you heard the old addage measure twice and cut once?

Or Hooiser rule:

Treat Nicotine as you would firearms... NO accidents with firearms or Nicotine.

Be careful measuring and administering Nic

BTW: are you over by the snakefarm?

Thats about 30ml nic content. Are you ok with it that high?

Yes. That is the concentration I always order from my favorite juicery, and that was my intended goal. I like vaping, but I work with my hands on the keyboard all day and I often visit customer sites where I sometimes want to popp off for a few puffs. Simple point is that higher nic = fewer puffs. The last time I tried 18 mg, I was chain vaping all day long and never quite felt satisfied. Now, with my foray into the dark world of DIY, I can taper back more gradually should I find the need to do so. At this point I have not.

Yes. I was very careful to validate my base concentration and calculate with two different methods (measure twice). When I mentioned heart rate and relaxation, I didn't mean to say it was anything out of the ordinary. That's just the "reality check" for me. Objectivity makes for good science, but human nature indicates that subjectivity will overrule it almost every time.

Snakefarm? No, but I'm close. I got a logo ball-cap there about twenty years ago, and the network admin where I worked named my account after my hat, after that it just sort of stuck.

I don't even know if the old snake farm is still open. I haven't been since I was a kid. They use to have a two headed rattler

Just tried this on my ghetto dripper (gutted carto from my original V2 cigs kit). It's OK, definitely vapeable, but a tad too spicy/gingery for me- I think it's nutmeg I'm tasting strongly. I do think 5% is plenty on the gingerbread flavor- I wouldn't go higher. It's plenty sweet enough, I think I'll try to "tame" it just a bit. Not sure if I want to simply dilute, or add something like maybe french vanilla. I wish I had some proper rum flavor, I might just try a drop or two of the rum extract I found in my kitchen just for kicks.

ETA: I was just thinking it would probably give a cappuccino juice a nice little kick at a low %, but alas, the Wizard was out of the caramel cappuccino when I placed my order.
